Wait- are you saying that Stetson Bennett is actually Samson?
Don’t know- but he looked like he wasn’t ready to play NFL football. He needs to get stronger & a year off without working out hasn’t helped his cause. The fact that he missed a season & The Rams are evaluating there options.Trust is a Big issue as well.
I was cheering for him,but IMO having a Carson Wentz will only help The Rams as a team.

His first pre-season outing was pretty decent. I have to think whatever he's going through had a lot to do with the poor play in the next two. I still think the guy could play if not for whatever non-football shit that's going on.

Time will tell.I was thinking the same thing, but as time has passed I think his NFL career ended before it really got started.
-There so many young QB’s that are going to flood the market. When your talking about an NFL QB there the first players in & the last players out of the building.I’ll leave it at that.

Not sure I am buying this article. Snead's quote doesn't deserve a write up on its own, but i am no Journalist.

Who knows, this makes it sound like he was either burned out. It happens at times. Everyone handles things differently. Maybe he didn't like going from being the man to having to prove himself all over again. Either way, this is the NFL and he's damn lucky the Rams are often a bit more progressive with how they handle mental/personal issues compared to other organizations.

But while McSnead has no problem giving a player time to get their head on straight because they know it might pay off, their patience is very finite and they will cut that cord at the first sign it isn't going to pay off. So hopefully their coach speak is true and he's ready to give it his all.

I’m pretty sure that all the players that make it to the NFL have worked hard.

It will be pretty obvious to his teammates if he thinks he can slack off because he’s “exhausted” by the college experience.

Get to work or get out.

Where did this come from?

I'm pretty sure there are a lot of NFL players that didn't work at all in college, and were picked based on pure talent.
I'm also pretty sure most people's negative reactions to Bennett are solely based on their personal dislike of him, his perceived attitude, and where he was picked.

I like him and am pulling for him.

From the article @Psycho_X Posted.

Snead said, he may have been exhausted from all the college work he put in.
According to the article anyway

He’s a Doctor right? Heard he did 7 years of college. That’s grueling and can wear you down. Give the kid a break.

Bennett will make the team simply for the fact that Garroppolo will be suspended for the first two games of the season. Which means we need a backup QB in case Matt gets injured.

So Snead was alluding to Stetson being full like ADPOY? That’s disheartening if he had to step away from the game to fall back in love with it

I wanted to know the circumstances behind it. Not from being curious or nosy. I wanted to know if this is a guy we want for our team. There are certain things that raise a red flag. Is this one? Is being burned out from working too hard combining other aspects with his football life something to be concerned about? I'm sure plenty of players have to work extra hard and juggle their other aspirations with their football career.

I'm in the same mind set as Avenger. I'm not expecting much from him. So anything he can contribute is a bonus as far as I'm concerned. When Jimmy G returns I imagine Bennett will move down to QB3. Jimmy G is on a one year deal. If Bennett is serious about an NFL career he's gonna have to work his way up from the practice squad if he wants a future in the NFL. Unless Stafford and Garoppolo both get hurt I'm not expecting to see Bennett on the field this year aside from the preseason.

I just remember what Cooper Kupp's dad said the first time his son missed significant playing time due to injury. He said something to the effect that this was the only time he relaxed and rested since high school. He went on to mention that the rest he got from taking the time off did him a lot of good.

If what Snead said is accurate, which I doubt for some reason, it would make some sense. They had to put some designation on him because they could not hide him on the practice squad. Someone would have claimed him, or am I wrong about that. Not sure I am buying it though. There was something else going on too.

From the reports I’ve seen seems like Alcohol addiction and mental issues which I could understand with all his time away etc.

I’ll rout for him in life but as a Rams QB think that ship is loading up to set sail.

Rams will cut him during final cuts, and then sign him to PS. They will elevate him from PS for the first couple games while Garoppolo is suspended. When JG is active, Stets goes back to PS.
I disagree, the Rams get a roster exemption for Garoppolo, so why cut Bennett? Unless he self destructs, they will keep Bennett on the final 53 for two weeks and then release Bennett and activate Garoppolo in week 3.

That being posted, I actually believe the Rams will keep 3 QB's throughout the year as and everyone knows I was against the Bennett pick, I believe Bennett will shine in preseason showcasing his resilience as he tries to put the demons behind him.

Wouldn’t that expose Bennett from being picked off the PS by another team while G-String is in his suspension period?

Yes, that is why IMO, Bennett will make the team for at least 2 weeks as the Rams get the roster exemption for Garoppolo, however, I also believe they will keep Bennett on the roster the whole season unless he self destructs again in preseason.
