Who is your favorite second round Rams pick? Which one still pisses you off?

I think a reason I'm leery of using a second rounder on a pass catcher is the recent history of guys like Brian Quick, Lance Kendricks, and Donnie Avery. Although that Isaac Bruce was an ok pick.

Favorite: IKE of course!
Head splosion WTF most hated: AVERY.

The Avery pick was the perfect example of that sinking feeling you get when your team thinks they're smarter than everyone else, and takes a super raw prospect when there's a far better actual RECEIVER right there to be taken. That pick still infuriates me man, every time I see Desean Jackson's name I think of it.

Bruce hands down favorite but I did like JL55 there to.

Worst would be Pead. I was so f'n mad at that pick. Sooooo stupid and amazed how many people couldn't just let him be shit and go. Same thing happening with GRob now...

The thing about it was most of us thought it was a no brainer and Jackson was clearly the guy to pick. None of us were even thinking of Avery.

Quick is another guy who came from nowhere to be the pick. It just seems like the Rams thought they were being smarter than everybody else.

I was heated when the Rams picked Laurinaitis of Rey M. I was wrong.

Fans hold out hope. It's what we do. Weather it be Pead, Quick, Kendricks, or Robinson. The funny thing is how quickly they turn on those guys once they are cut/traded.

Most of you aren't as old as I am, so you don't remember as far back as I. But there ARE some ROD folks who can relate here.
Bruce can be argued as the best Rams 2nd rd pick, EVER, but here are some other Ram 2nd round picks (some in the HOF) who turned out to be pretty darned good. Bruce might have been best at WR, but Nolan Cromwell was best cb, not a fair comparison, but to me equal as 2nd rounders. (Irv Pankey pretty close too)

In order of year they were drafted, stating with the oldest:

"57 Jack Pardee
'73 Ron Jaworski
'76 Pat Thomas
'77 Nolan Cromwell
'80 Irv Pankey
'83 Henry Ellard
'86 Tom Newberry
'88 Flipper Anderson
'91 Roman Phifer
'96 Ernie Conwell
'99 Dre Bly
'03 Pisa Tinoesamoa

Rams have had some success in the 2nd rd wouldn't you all agree?

Since the 1990's... I'd go Roman Phifer, then Ron Bartell.

1980's... Henry Ellard

Ah, Ron Bartell. One of the few non-failed Marts picks. Shame he had that neck thing... dude was awesome.

Aside from Ike, of course... Flipper Anderson? Anyone?

Tony Banks and Brian Quick have to be two of the biggest disappointments.

Favorite Non-Bruce 2nd rounder?

The Rams all-time leading tackler.

Least favorite?

I used to call taking a dump "droppin' a Klop".

Yeah, Donnie Avery sucked, but at least he could run fast, so he offered something.
Kloppenstein did NOTHING but cost us a 2nd round pick.
