....So why the heck do I have to look at this tool?!!.....

...everywhere I look it’s this dude with a handful of starts under his belt. I assume it is a regional thing. I am in Northern California. But Jimmyjaw even gets top billing over Derek Carr, or Khalil Mack. Pretty sad. I want to destroy that dude week 7.

So my question, for you guys in Southern Ca. Who is on the cover of all the preview magazines down there? How about you guys in Florida? Reno? Texas, North Carolina, etc? I'd be curious to know.

My guess in Southern Ca...Todd Gurley and Phillip Rivers. It would be nice to hear Goff made it, but my guess is Gurley?

On the substance, I used to love when the magazines came out. Still do. I'd pour through the predictions, draft grades, Rams roster, etc. Good stuff.

I like Pro Football Weekly best, then maybe Lindys. How about you?

Yea it’s regional bro.

It don’t take a team a data analysts to know if you put Jimmy on the cover then the average Niner Fan is gonna snort it up.

Big $$

It's a regional thing - we get a lot of Redskins covers in Virginia. Again - nothing against Jimmy G-String personally (the pressure of his $$$$ contract hangs around his neck heavily) but the 49ers hype is nauseating. Rams need to contribute significantly to their fall to earth in week 7.

It's a regional thing and that entire region has its hopes and dreams pinned to that inexperienced Garoppolo.

They're just trying to sell magazines to the desperate San Fran fans.

Kind of sad really. :D

This used to be a huge day for me and years ago, they did not come out until July....I actually remember taking a half day of work, heading to the Barnes & Noble, engrossing myself in all the magazines, while enjoying a fine Colombian Beverage or two and then purchasing a couple as well, most of the time Lindy's and PFW.

Part of me misses those simpler times as many of us would communicate the information is right at our fingertips, but now instead of taking that half day, I just work. Guess I use the time for other things, like family events or doing things around the house, but I sure did enjoy reading those magazines, especially the college magazines as during vacation with the family, I would just take in the sun and work on memorizing all Division I Head Football Coaches and every college nick name as well, besides a stupendous tan as being Italian has its perks.;)

I was going to post a pic of the magazine rack I was looking at but then realized its probably NSFW

In BC, Canada we get shithawks on the covers

Those magazines are a miserable substitute for real football. All they do is say that next season is going to be just like last season. Once the season starts, they'll be nothing better than starter for a fire or headed to the recycling bin.
