I take it head won out over heart in the Croatia game, then ? Another heartbreaker for Scotland. I like the look of young Doak, though. Hope springs eternal, eh ?

I was born in Oban, btw, to a Scottish mother & Ulsterman father & I'm of an age that the wound of '78 still aches every major tournament. Fortunately, The Rams had already hardened me to painful disappointment by that point....lol...

My man! Oban is a great spot. Love to visit there. They have a great distillery.

I don't bet on Scotland as a rule. I do go to all the home games though and a fair few abroad as well. The hope kills you, but it's always great fun regardless of the score. Germany in the summer was wild!! Playing Portugal in Glasgow on Tuesday, I am going to boo Ronaldo mercilessly for 2 hours.

Many wonderful holiday memories of Argyll; I left very young, but my Grandmother lived there for many years. Definitely under consideration for my retirement home.

The descendants of Ally's army are a source of pride for us displaced Scots, so good on you for your ongoing support.

Make that prima donna miss another penalty & snivel like a lassie who spilled her Irn Bru. Alba gu brath ! ( I know there's supposed to be an accent there, but I can never make it work on my Sassenach Chromebook )

Well I rolled the dice on ARZ today. Man what a let down game. Sometimes teams ride the high from the week before and wet the bed the next week. I feel stupid and embarrassed lol.

I saw they were the 31st ranked defense but I didn't see the turnovers and Marvin Harrision Jr leaving the game in the second. That's just football.

my thoughts on the Patriots were either get blown out, or win outright... bet them to win... easy come, easy go
