This one is for my father (a proud Italian American) who passed-away almost 40 years ago.

Dante Magnani!

Played back and receiver for the Cleveland Rams in the early-1940's ... served in World War II (as did my father) ... then returned to the NFL and the Los Angeles Rams in the late-1940s.

Magnani was a 19th Round Draft Choice in 1940, after playing in college with the Galloping Gaels of St. Mary's; and is credited with being the first football player to be referred to as a "Scat-back".

My goodness! What could Sean McVay do with Dante Magnani?!?

View attachment 66692 And, apparently, also wore #3!

OK ... I will Go Away Now
I love this shit! Have to keep the history alive as Rams are one of the premier teams in the league over the course of their time in the league.

Man!!! I am a die-hard, life-long Rams' fan that goes back to 1969. And I love Rams' history!

However, I can NOT identify any of those three players blocking for Hammond.

It appears that I have a Project for later today. It also appears it will be a very slow and boring day for me.
Clark Miller, George Burman and Jeff Jordan would be my guess and it would be a 1969 or 1970 game.

Well ... THAT ruined my Big Plans for today.

Just Kidding. I did look it up; and those are absolutely the three players, and it was 1970. Well Done.

The image populated when I did a google search for Johnnie Johnson RAMS. If it isn't him, I'd guess it is Jackie Wallace.
Maybe. I just didn't think it looked like him but not sure who it might be.

The other day, I watched a short documentary of Lance Rentzel; and it contained a lot of still shots from his playing days. Football card stuff where the players would pose in an action/athletic position. At two different points in the twenty-minutes-doc, they had an image of Golden Richards!

Needless to say, it was not a well done documentary.
