That's a young Fred Dryer (playing for the Giants) at the top/center diving to get in on the tackle.
Final regular season game of 1970. LA RAMS 31-3 eliminate Giants and Tarkenton from playoff contention at Yankee Stadium. Punter Pat Studstill grabbed a pair of TD passes from Gabe.

George Allen's final game with the Rams.

I did not watch football that day.
Listened to that game on a transistor radio, sitting at the kitchen table.
And, I lived in New York City!!!

Because of black-out rules, that HUGE game for New Yorkers, played in NYC, was NOT televised in NYC.

All I had was ...

That is the first game I remember, now I was 4, but it was a big day at my Grandparents house as everyone was over watching the game (it was not blacked out in Upstate, NY), the only thing I remember is going into the living room and there had to be a dozen people in there, my Uncles, Cousins and such and that is the first time I remember seeing the Ram helmet and I said or something like, that team has nice helmets.

I have been reminded of that day many times by my relatives over the years as they always knew what team I was going to root for.

Our current #37 - and future broadcaster when D'Marco retires - is Quentin Lake!

Ken Geddes was one of those guys that just looked like an NFL player.

Here he is with Merlin's younger brother Phil Olsen ... and @Loyal who had just graduated from college.

I remember Phil Olsen very well. I was amazed back then that the brothers played on the same defensive line back in ‘73 when I had a program for the Browns game.
