Mcvay is definitely doing some special things in Washington.
I'm not big on Haley, Gruden or Whisenhunt .
I liked the article about Mcdaniels and how he has been preparing
himself in case he gets another shot at HC.I think he would do a much better
job the second time around.

Eh, McDaniels just makes me think of Johnny Manziel. How he played the reformed party boy act during the draft process. As soon as he got drafted, he was back to his old ways.

I agree with the above that the coach that's best for Goff is, at least at this time, the best head coach for this team overall. In retrospect, one could argue that the mistake of the Fisher hire was not hiring a coach who was best for Sam's long term development. Instead, there seemed to be an assumption that he would be fine and we could focus on fixing the defense. The defense got largely fixed, at the expense of the offense and here we are now ...

Whisenhunt is a two-time failure. ;)

I'm opposed to Saban. He tried to treat NFL players like he did his college players, and they didn't respect him. His personality doesn't fit the NFL imo.
Forgot he was a two timer. thanks for refreshing my mind.

As to Saban, mayne he has learned from his failure ways when it comes to the NFL. I mean he did start a true freshman this year which is a first, so maybe he has changed his ways a bit. We wont know as I dont see any chance he leaves Bama for the Rams.

Not crazy about any of the retreads.

Looks like the First time list has a lot more intriguing names for sure
I agree. Seems that way most years though. Retreads are always looked at for there failures on their first run, and first timers are looked at how good they have done recently.

Of all the coaches we have mentioned.
I would be the most disappointed if it was Saban

Why is that? Not saying youre wrong or anything, just curious your reasons. I live in Saban country and have watched every game. Would like to hear an outsiders view of why you dont like him.

I agree on Saban, but I actually think he is an obtainable HC. He has nothing really to prove at the college level. He has everything to prove at the NFL level. I think it may stick in his crawl that he couldn't cut it in the NFL.

I was thinking back to 2012 when Fisher was hired. Maybe the move was to get a HC that was best for Bradford. Maybe Fisher should have kept McDaniels in place as OC and let him run the offense (a move I would have been adamantly against at the time but looks like a better move in hindsight).

I think getting Goff right has to be the priority. That's why Shanahan is number 1 for me. Peak Matt Schaub and Matt Ryan are nice comps for Goff and Shanahan has gotten the best out of both.

Maybe. Personally, I think Saban learned enough in Miami to let sleeping dogs lie. The stories are worth reading. It's funny how little some of the veterans on that team respected him.

I doubt it. His style of coaching works in college because he can be a dictator. I don't see that having changed. He's a great coach but just not made to deal with NFL personalities.

Maybe, He kind of seems like the Bellicheat of the NCAA. Could he adapt to the NFL after everything hes been through? maybe, maybe not. We wont find out though IMO.

He was hated for sure. He works well in college because kids will only be with him at most 5 years. Long term his personality will wear on the players, especially professionals over time. Heck of an X and Os guy. Horrible personality for pro HC.

It's also a lot easier to look like a genius when you have the best players. The playing field levels off a bit in the pros.

I think the biggest issue with him is kids who need you to get their NFL pay-checks are more willing to put up with an overbearing authoritarian than adults who are going to make millions whether or not they respect you.

I am a big NO on Saban. I don't think the Rams even consider him, actually.

I definitely think the Rams would consider him. I think they are going to make a big splash. That being said I don't think he is a realistic option or a top option for the team.

Jim Harbaugh or David Shaw would be my top choices. Assuming they aren't options, I don't know enough about the coordinators personalities to say for sure. I like the systems that Shanahan and Haley run. I also respect both Patricia and Anthony Lynn as coaches.

I like patricia because I heard he's a rocket scientist and I think that's what its going to take to turn this mess around. my attempt at humor.
