I’m not saying the AFC can’t win the Super Bowl. We all watch enough football to know anything can happen on game day.

But... this seems like a very weak year for the AFC. It’s Pittsburgh and New England, then...

The AFC is very weak. I think it’s only New England. You can throw Pitt in there I guess, but that is a team that barely beat Indy a couple of weeks back, plus I don’t think Tomlin is much of a coach. The NFC is stacked though

Not a lot of depth, two good teams at the top then mediocrity throughout.

Pittsburgh always seems to play up or down to their competition.
If NE gets home field they are walking into the Super Bowl again.
The wild card to me is the Chargers or Chiefs.
The Charges have the cup cake schedule of the league the rest of the way and could win the AFC West. If the Chiefs can get out of reverse they could win the division as well.
On a good day both teams can hang with anyone.

Yea it’s seem our top 2-6 record-wise teams:
Rams
Saints
Falcons
Carolina

Could easily handle their 2-6 teams:
Tennessee
Chiefs
Jags
Baltimore

I guess we will find out in a few weeks when we go to Tennessee.

Baltimore will give the Patriots a run for their money. But yeah, the AFC sucks.

People sleeping on Pittsburgh and it’s mainly cause people don’t like Tomlin but every year he has to deal with major injuries to key players defensive stars got too old had to put new guys in place even Pittsburgh fans don’t know what they have in tomlin and they shortchange him for his Super Bowl win.
But Pittsburgh is going to be in the Super Bowl this year

The Patriots will beat the Steelers not once, but twice because the Steelers never beat Tom Brady & Mike Tomlin is 0-175 against Bill Belichick.

The NFC is the Nails Football Conference
The AFC is the Alabaster Football Conference.
Never really cared for the AFC, and I'm kinda resentful that they're a thing.

Yup, and win or lose it will close the conversation for who is the best QB/HC tandem ever.

.. Now doesn't that Feel Good!? Hate is a Great Stress reliever!!

KC has just fallen apart. They looked like the best team in the AFC earlier this year.
Chargers look like they realistically have a chance of winning their div.

5-6 teams in the AFC are a game back of a playoff spot. 5-6 teams in the NFC are looking to free agency and the draft for their next round of excitement.

My dream scenario is that the Rams stomp the Pats in the Super Bowl so hard (like 7 TD passes for Goff and another 3 on the ground for Gurley, while our defense shuts the door bad) that Brady and Bill just retire from the league. And then the 40 year period of the Rams constantly being contenders and winning Super Bowls begins.

I am with you, probably because we are old guys and remember (or knew very soon afterwards) that the AFL was the lesser league at the merger. I only care about the AFC that the division winner's have a winning record. I WANT there to be divisions in the NFL. Many call for their elimination when good teams with even better divisional rivals get left out of the playoffs, while sucky teams in the other conference win divisions with an 8-8 record.

Pitt & NE seem to be worthy adversaries.....

I'd watch out for San Diego....and those Raiders too....

If Eli could get to Jax....maybe them too....
