We aren't and should not outbid the Pats for him. They have a crap ton of cap to spend. I think its a foregone conclusion that he is a Pat. Also, we happen to have a great scouting team when it comes to drafting WR's.
I imagine the Pats will be all over him yes. But there's more to this than money. Mayo isn't cut out for running the show. That team is looking at a new coach most likely either this offseason or next. Rams meanwhile are stable and will bounce back as long as McVay is around. Rams just need to be in the ballpark for him and if a team like New England wants to throw funny money around he still might opt for the more stable environment.

Also I don't think Higgins is a guy teams are going to get too stupid with. There will be competition for him, which means he'll make a bit more than he's worth most likely. But it's not like what you'd have if Chase hit the market.

Rams will almost surely at least bid on him. From there who knows.

Dude I swear whoever is in charge of PFN rankings of prospects is a complete buffon. Guy isn't even close a lot of the time. I almost get to the point I want to send them an e-mail ask them wtf they are doing but then I don't have the time to do it myself. lol

The one that I laugh at is this one. I think Travis Hunter is 34 on their board?

Got a very good WR and 2 CBs by the 4th round.

The thing with Egbuka, and keep in mind I haven't watched a lot of him, everything I read and hear on him is he's Kupp/Puka the next generation. He's a great route runner and technician from the slot. While he could be a great player and a wonderful Ram we have 2 like him so not sure we really need him unless the talk that goes around about Kupp comes true which I doubt. Love the rest of the picks though admittedly I don't know much about Monongai. Mason Taylor is one of 5 or so TE I think contribute day 1 in the NFL.

Yeah, I agree with you: I'm seeing him mostly operating from the slot.

When I did this mock, it was intended to follow a free agency period where the WR room got a shake up. 1) Kupp traded for a 3rd, saving $12.5 mil on the cap. 2) Higgins signed.

The WR depth chart would be: Puka / Higgins / Egbuka / Whittington / Johnson.

The idea behind trading Kupp and signing Higgins being that it's easier to add dynamic slot WRs in the draft than great X WRs.

The offense would be getting an infusion of speed, youth, and playmakers.

Corner is way up on my needs list after yesterday. Shavon Revel is looking mighty intriguing.

Nice thing about Gabriel is you can probably get him late.

Well... Unless the Panthers decide to take him 1st overall. :laugh3:
