I know this is a moot point now and hope this has not been discussed in another thread but it's been bothering me reading some of the negative comments regarding this play.

This is my take on the play.

Take a look at the picture or better yet the video if you got it. If Tavon lets that ball bounce it looks like it will hit the playing field before the goal line. If he lets it go and it takes a forward bounce it's a live ball. We really can't tell which way the ball was spinning but I think Tavon had no choice but to field it. His momentum carried him into the end zone but he has to bring it out. I had to get that off my chest, carry on.

Was a perfect kick really. Hard to 2nd guess that move by TA.
There was another thread on this but since they won it became moot

The other thing that people don't take into account is all the "hands" players up close anticipating the onside kick which leaves virtually no one blocking the kick coverage guys on the other team. If that ball hits the ground and takes a funny bounce, maybe one of the coverage guys gets to the ball first. Tavon made a smart decisions by catching the kick and returning it as far as he could.

Yeah you have to give credit to the other guys sometimes and that kick put TA in a bad spot. He did the best he could all things considered.
