I have another story.
It's difficult to fathom but I was smart enough to graduate HS very early. I was not yet 17, 16 and a half LOL. Shortly after I turned 17 I moved out (errrr got kicked out) and was a wild child on the loose.
Anyway a guy I met who was 22 and just out of the Air Force was living in the same dumpy apartment building looked like me and had a military ID I used to use to get into bars. Well we got a wild hair and ended up driving to Atlantic City, this was just after gambling had been made legal, maybe 2 or 3 years afterwards, so the place was hopping as there was no other place to gamble other than Las Vegas.
Long story short we were in Bally's casino playing slots and I hit for a couple of hundred bucks. Back then that was a lot more than it is now of course so we hit the bars to live it up. I don't have any recollection of where we went, what we drank, or what we did.
I woke up on the beach, which was crowded by then, wrapped up in a sheet and no clothes anywhere around me. There were zillions of people, including families all around. I was in a panic, and I mean a real panic. However I found my buddies van after walking around for awhile, with a sheet acting as a toga, and he was in it passed out on a comforter. Thankfully my clothes were safe in the van.
He filled me in on details after I banged on the window long enough to wake him up. We ended up in a hotel room with a couple of chicks and then decided we would go to the beach and play around, that's where the sheet and comforter came from.
I have SO many stories like this. When I was 17 he and I hitchhiked all over the country for 9 months. It was an amazing adventure and I wish everyone could have experienced it. I learned A LOT at a very, very early age. We did so many crazy things. I haven't talked to him in about 10 years, but we stayed in touch for many, many years and when we got together we always retold tales from that trip. I think most people who heard them thought we were lying, but we weren't. It was a massive adventure.
I wish at this moment I could find him, it would be a hoot.
In fact does anyone here have any people finding skills?
I know his name and I recall the first 3 digits of his social since it was on the ID of his I used to get into bars.
