I love the McVay hire..however..I'd be silly to not look at doors # 2 & 3 and say damn, that was behind there? Shanahan & McDaniels have looked impressive. No one should doubt that.

Probably already been said but, I'd be bummed about not hiring Shanahan if we had a Julio Jones on our team. We don't, so I'm quite happy with what McVay can bring, especially if he can bring Garcon or Jackson to the team.

Bartender, I'll have a double of what he's drinking. (y)(y)

Remember, check or ask what my take was about this time last year.

Things were badly contentious between myself and a couple of other and most of the board that wanted to believe Goff was going to be the catalyst to change our losing ways. I knew that wasn't the case and broke down in detail why.

Now, I'm saying since the McVay hire at least in detail why we are very likely to go to the playoffs as a wildcard.

Im super excited, not just because of the possibilities, but because there is strong reason to believe that the patterns of success will continue.

I'm more than happy with McVay. The guy is universally loved by players and coaches. He's an offensive genius, and yet he knows enough to hire Phillips and let him do the defense the way he wants to run it.

Really, what's not to like?

Rams haven't won a game with McVay yet! What a bust!!
And none of his Rams drafted players are even in the league!
What were we thinking?
Not only that but i'm not impressed with our 2017 draft class either. We should've traded up....err i mean traded down for that 2021 future pro bowler.

with McVay now in charge, I interested in finding out how the back-up QB slot turns out next year...My guess is that Mannion will be there..(Unless McVay really doesn't either and goes out and gets somebody else)

He would definitely benefit from having a good/great offense around him, but he had his share of struggles this season.
Yeh, there was something up with the Rams this year - as we say in Wales "Oedd yna drwg yn y caws" which basically translates as there's something bad in the cheese which doesn't really make sense in English

I like Mannion

Watching the Falcons I am crying that we didn't wait for Shanahan. Goff is a Matty Ice clone, just imagine what he could have turned this kid into. I pray that I'm wrong about McVay, I like his confidence and he carries himself well but Shanahan is pretty special.
I know everybody is on the Kool Aid wagon but I have serious reservations about McVay as well. I wish we would of went Shannahan with his father in management.

I guess the bonus is we did get Wade Phillips and someone smart enough to keep Bones around which I admit is encouraging.

The reason why we hired him is "because when you talked to other people around the league they describe McVay as 'special'."

That really doesn't make sense to me to hire him as a head coach. He might be a decent offensive mind but couple that with his inexperience I don't see this playing out well.

Offensive genius doesn't always work out if you draft horrible. (i.e. Mad Mike) God I hope I'm just jaded by the last 10+ years and being overly paranoid here! Lol

Just seriously concerned with this hire and glad to see a few others being concerned as well so I don't feel like a negative crazy ass.

Wth? lol I don't see how that makes sense in Welsh either! Lol

I like Mannion

I really like Mannion as well and see very good potential for him and I'm curious and intrigued to how MCVay evaluates and coaches up both Mannion and Goff.

Extremely curious to this years upcoming draft and FA to see if it cures some of my concerns so I can start chugging the Kool Aid to! Lol

I think Mannion catches a break that McVay doesn't really have any connection to any QB that are FA whom he could bring in that know "the system". Colt McCoy is under contract as Cousins back up.

Hindsight is a peculiar thing - most Rams fans were excited that they went and got an offensive weapon - people forget that most scouting reports had him as "...might be the most explosive player I've ever seen in my life..."

Used correctly I think Tavon steps up big style this year. Julio Jones is a great WR, don't get me wrong, but we can't use hindsight when it comes to draft picking
I was a fan of the Tavon pick. That being said Tavon has to want
to be that guy.It won't matter what McVay does for our offense,
If Tavon doesn't improve his hands. This Has to be his focus
this offseason.

I think I get it. Yeah, expressions are hard to translate.

I think the reason most were happy with this hire instead of waiting for shanny was because we could get started to hire assistant coaches before they were picked over. but our hiring has not gone at a very good pace so this is starting to give me concerns. maybe its just all the losing but I was expecting more.

At the end of the day, there's so much more to being a great head coach than being a great coordinator.
Ain't THAT the truth! ;)

Put me in the "I preferred Shanahan (and his dad) camp as well.

But, we have McVay now so let's see what the wunderkid can do.

I like the Wade hire... very interested in OL coach and OC.
