Everyone here should be rooting for the Falcons, not only because of our strong dislike of the Panthers, but our all-time leading rusher has a chance to finally make the playoffs. For me personally, he was perhaps the only reason I was able to watch the Rams play during our dark, dark ages. It sucks he will be inactive but perhaps he'll be healthy enough to get some snaps in the playoffs.

What is his injury status?

He left the game last week...

EDIT: doesn't sound good for Sunday..

It appears that the Atlanta Falcons will make their last stand at the Georgia Dome in 2014 sans running back Steven Jackson.

The veteran, who injured his quadriceps in Atlanta's win over the Saints, has missed two practices this week. ESPN's Vaughn McClure reports that the running back is expected to be inactive Sunday, per multiple sources.

Jackson may be the best RB in the history of the NFL to never play in a playoff game.

He is for sure one of the all time favorites for me, the guy has always conducted himself in a mature and professional fashion. I've said many times that his parents have to be awfully proud of the son they raised.

I'm rooting for the Falcons because if they win the Rams get a better draft pick the fact that Jackson goes to the playoffs does not matter to me because he's no longer a Rams, but it does benefit the St. Louis Rams if the Falcons win so, Go Falcons, kick some Panther tail!

Let's be honest, if not for Steven Jackson, we probably go 0-16 at least once from 2007-2011. I'll be rooting for the Falcons like it was the Rams.

Yeah, I was pretty upset to see S Jax go, man I hope Atlanta pulls this one out, I cringe to think of how much worse 07-11 may have been had it not been for # 39.

Would be great for him. You think he is a guy that retires a Ram?
I do Tim wouldn't surprise me a bit in fact I would be more surprised if he didn't retire a Ram. However it will depend some on his relationship with the hierarchy at Ram headquarters when that time comes

I'm rooting for whichever NFC South team can complete the Arians Pie Hole prophecy. I'm thinking Carolina @ home vs Arians' Cardinals will be a better matchup.

Agreed. I would like to see SJ get to be in a playoff game, finally.

Gotta root for the Falcons just to improve our draft status. We could draft as high as 7th if the 4 teams we are tied with win, and the Bears win as they had a harder SOS this year.

whats his contract? was it 3 years? who knows if we retain all 3 backs after next year or keep Harkey. if he's cheap and the teams trending up he might not have to return and retire as an honorary Ram. could get a year or two under his belt. call it wishful thinking but its certainly not impossible.

I agree with your point. That said, while I sorta want the Panthers to win, I won't be rooting for either team.
