I think there's a chance they're just telling us the technical truth. We've seen Stafford play with broken ribs and everything else. Would he play today if there was a game? Probably. Would he be good? Depends.
I really don't know what more people want from McVay. He's not a doctor, doesn't have a magic crystal ball, etc. I feel like he always puts the team first in his communications, and I definitely wouldn't want it any other way.

When they described his work out 60 throws ect after no throwing for a few weeks I suspected there would be soreness. I was acctually surprised by the prediction he would be practicing today. I still think he will be good soon.

Hows he going to feel after four quarters of football? Im starting to think they will put him on the shelf. Sorry to sound negative but if hes too sore to practice then how can he be expected to play a live game? Doesnt sound good at all.

Not sure if anyone else noticed it, but during our preseason game there was a random shot of Stafford on the sideline walking around. I noticed him reaching down and rubbing his back with both hands. I know he had thrown earlier but still the probability the moment the camera goes to him he starts grabbing at his back...

Yeah the only injury that I remember them being very coy about was Gurley, but I felt like they were doing it for him. And they were using the technical truth (arthritis isn't an everyday thing so sometimes he was hurting and sometimes he wasn't). Mcvay and Snead are often a little too open and honest to me lol

That was my first thought as well. Going from resting your back and not throwing a football in over a month to throwing 68 passes can be a strain on those muscles you haven't used in a while.

Quite a few people mentioned that he was moving pretty gingerly.

I remember the shot. He was definitely talking to somebody on the sideline when he did that and I took it to be he was joking around. JMHO.

I guess my main worry right now is not whether he'll be able to play week 1 but whether he's going to be able to play through a whole season. I think they'll have him ready and he'll be out there ready to play week 1. But that first big hit or even after a month of getting thrown around and throwing 200 passes is he going to be able to keep going? Hopefully all much ado about nothing but going to be hard to not worry about this until we get proof of that.

Yeah I bet he ends up on the PUP list to start the season… at the very least…

Weren't Rams quite frustrated with Gurley because he was being coy about what was really going on with his knee?

If I see Stafford go on the pup list before game one or he's not on the active roster game one, I'll be worried. Until then I'm assuming he'll be good to go come game time. We've had preseason drama about his health almost every year since he joined the team. And he's always been there to start the season.

I’ve been trying to keep quiet and have patience with this whole situation. But I know the Rams are sneaky and sometimes for lack of a better phrase, full of shit. I knew this was a bigger deal than they were letting on. Taking him off the field altogether and sending up for an epidural? The fuck? I fuckin knew this shit wasn’t normal.
It's not surprising. Epidurals are given in series of threes.....usually 5 - 7 days apart. I had them twice. The first time, my back felt brand new the day after I got the first one. The second time it wasn't until the second shot that it felt better and really not brand new until I got the third one. They lasted about a year before issues arose again.....and I was doing very physical labor.

They amaze me. In today's interview McVay was explaining the reason for assistants coaching during preseason is to showcase their talents for opportunities around the league. McVay really does understand the long game, and I've seen no evidence he doesn't genuinely care about "the human being first."
