Stafford has never been held out like this before. I’m sorry but you guys are delusional if you think this is normal.
Definitely not normal. So it is concerning, though if Stafford has to play himself into form over the first month, well, we've endured that before.

Bigger issue is the unknown at LT. Also concerning is that both Jackson and Stafford were inked or paid only to immediately have medical issues. Or maybe "goddamn irritating" is more appropriate than "concerning" on that front. :laugh2:

Unless they did a behind the scenes deal that Stafford would stay another year as long as he didn’t have to do training camp. Which I would then question his dedication if that’s the case.

The Rams have always done “veteran days” but not even a 40 year old Andrew Whitworth was kept out for weeks at a time in training camp.
I dont think anyone said it was normal, but I dont think its anything serious and I know Matthew Stafford is one tough SOB. Once the season starts he will power through whatever is hurting on gameday.

I was not familiar with the Dr. Watkins that Stafford consulted with.
Damn . . . Some of you have heard of Dr. James Andrews and Dr. Neal ElAttrache. Dr. Robert Watkins III and his son ("IV") are the spine doc versions of those guys.

Football patients, including Peyton Manning (https://www.watkinsspine.com/football)
Baseball patients, including Clayton Kershaw (https://www.watkinsspine.com/baseball)
Basketball patients (https://www.watkinsspine.com/basketball)
Hockey patients, including Gretzky (https://www.watkinsspine.com/hockey)

IMO, someone like Stafford isn't going to get time (two visits!) with a super jock doc for something minor or for some aspirin. Stafford has a real deal issue and everyone should feel free to panic. It makes this place more interesting.

Did he have to have an MRI? if he did we may have to worry if not then rest should take care of it. He had this issue in 2021 also and came back strong. I will remain positive. If he can't go then it will be the G-man and Bennet sharing the plays this season. Its not the end of the world yet.

I've had back problems for 40 years after an injury back in the 80's. Yes, sitting too long does make it ache more. Getting out of bed in the mornings is tough. But when I start moving around it loosens up.
I’m the same way. Once I get moving…but it’s tough to put my socks on immediately after getting out of bed.

Listening to McVay talk about Jimmy G, I think there is a real possibility that he could be our starter next year if Stafford calls it quits. That includes that they could easily pass on a QB in rd 1 or at least pass on one with that first # 1 pick. That is unless a slam dunk stud QB falls to them or is within range of a small trade up.

They may see Garoppolo as a guy that can play a few more yrs, so they may take a developmental QB in rd 2 or 3 who they can groom for a few yrs. So I don't see them reaching for a QB and passing on a much better talent considering that McVay seems very happy with Jimmy.

PLEASE do not suggest a future where a lifetime Ram fan has to rely on ex9er QB jimmy g-string.
I know it’s me, but I just don’t want to be in that position.

Makes sense. If Stafford hangs it up next year then you sign Jimmy again and let him compete with the rookie. He's either the stop gap or the backup again.

Anything is possible.I think things are to far out to tell for sure.

All options are open right now,but agree Mcvay likes Jimmy G as a backup QB.

There was the Manning rumors as well, which Mcvay basically says the exact thing. When the time comes he(The Rams) will make the best decision for the team.

Anecdotal, but my nagging a.m. back pain I had for years disappeared when I started core strengthening exercises, planks, etc.

What RAM FANS tend to forget is Reggie Scott The long time RAM is one of (leader) in The NFL for sports medicine.
He does a lot of clinics across the nation.I think The Rams are lucky to have had him SO long on there staff.
He is the HIGHEST TINER Ram I believe??? I’d look it up,but he came over from Carolina with that computer GEEK that wore that straw hat around training camp in THE LOU ?
