Pretty implausible situation really, I mean the Vikings panicked nearly 10 years ago and coughed up a 1st rounder for Sam Bradford, but when has any team done anything similar? If anything, the failure of that trade would be a warning more than a green light. That even aside, who would look at JG as the answer? Dumped unceremoniously from his previous 2 teams, and has been an available FA the last 2 off seasons. Alas, even if Staff is fully 100% healthy, I wouldnt see the Rams trading him for a mid round pick
By "top end pick" I meant for his talent level.

I agree nobody would give up a first rounder for Jimmy. But maybe some team is desperate enough to cough up a second and I'd have to think real long and hard before I say no. It would be a no, granted, given my current fears with Stafford's back, but I'd still need to think about it.

Bottom line is unless Jimmy's starting for us there will inevitably be a team trying to shake him loose because he's a QB1.5, and I don't rule anything out given how dumb teams can get when it comes to QB.

So you want Bennett to play in week 1?
I thought there were 4 preseason games. Honestly, I don't want to see Bennett at all in the regular season this year. But I would like to see him get better in the preseason and hopefully become an asset down the road.

Hahaha, if someone offered a second for Jimmy, Rams would probably trade him.

I kinda think it's funny that people on here are either Stafford is gonna be fine for week 1 or basically he's done for the season when it's entirely reasonable to think he might miss say the 1st four games of the season.
It’s because of the nature of the injury. Back injury are either fine or broken, there’s no real middle ground. If he does have a serious back issue, 4 weeks out is t going to do much.

What's funny is when that red light shit is commonly used with back injuries (at least according to that internet doc) the Rams are acting like they brought it in for everyone. :laugh3:

I believe Turner had also hurt his back

History of Red Light Therapy: Origins, and Health Benefits

The Los Angeles Rams began incorporating red light therapy, also known as photobiomodulation therapy, into their training and performance management programs through a partnership with BIOFLEX, an industry leader in laser light and RLT technologies, starting in August 2023. This partnership, announced on August 22, 2023, saw BIOFLEX's technologies integrated into the team's approach to athlete recovery and performance.

No wonder we’ve been kickin butt the last couple years.

Killjoy.

His wife Kelly must have started demanding some wicked kinks in bed these days especially this past off-season. Way beyond Tempur-pedic comfort.

Jimmy G hold my beer, - Stafford

You can do cryotherapy in the morning and red light therapy in the afternoon so you can get that freezer to the microwave feeling?

A few years ago, the Rams used sensory deprivation float tanks. I guess they got rid of those. Thankfully the Rams' cutting edge training methods have advanced farther than having our O-lineman bounce around in aqua aerobics. Remember that?

Little known fact - Red light therapy helped turn Brock Purdy into the elite quarterback that they're paying him to be. How could Staff turn down getting a piece of that action?!?

Teams don’t panic and trade for other teams backup qb’s
The outlier Sam Bradford is also the reason why teams don’t
Mike McDaniel is on a hot seat in Miami. If Tua goes down, they are left with Zach Wilson and Quinn Ewers. At that point the FO isn’t trading any assets since they’ll likely be looking for a new coach and QB after the season.

Kevin Kolb for a second and didn’t Seattle trade a decent pick for Flynn? I don’t recall the timing of either move.
Mixing metaphors.
Philly traded Kolb in the off season because they had Vick, and Seattle signed Flynn as a FA before drafting Wilson
Im not saying teams don’t make QB moves in the off season

Not exactly. You could say back injuries are either muscular (minor) or structural (chronic). There is no "fine" with disc problems, only manageable. If he does have a disc issue, rest and physical therapy brings on recovery quicker. So 4 weeks can do wonders. "Serious" back injuries......broken vertabrae, severely blown out discs or multiple bulging discs.....are potential career enders.
