Ended up in St Louis tonight on my travels and memories of the Thordaddy celebration. What a time that was!

The pre-game was like none I've ever been to - not even close.

That party at Ball Park Village was pretty epic too.

Wish I could've spoken to y'all more. Sadly, I was in a rehabilitation center/retirement home; it was all I could do to convince the people there I could go to the game.

Also, I had a fun time with @Merlin and @ozarkram at a bar watching us play the Steelers. We may have to do that again, maybe even grab @Loyal , and shoot the shit.

Hey now... I went up.

I just couldn't walk over to one of those tiny windows once I realized the whole damn Arch was moving back and forth because of the wind... and it was just a slight breeze.

My knees buckled immediately.

I fucking HATE heights.

And for anyone who is claustrophobic (I'm not)... the fucking 1932 elevator you have to crawl into and let someone on the outside seal it closed... you will lose your shit before you ever get to the top of the damn thing.

Was proud of you George - remember you saying "no way no how ever'" and 3 hours later..."yeah, i did it"! :laugh4:
No problem with heights, or the swaying, but am mildly claustrophobic, (take valium for MRIs), and DID NOT like that capsule, at all.

Being afraid of heights is a funny thing.

There is part of my roof, maybe 12” off the ground and I can’t hardly replace a shingle or clean a gutter without freaking out.

The Arch, not a problem for me. Sky diving. Did it, twice.

An extension ladder, yikes! No way.

Edge of a cliff. Absolutely no way. I cannot get close to the edge.

Diving board; my height is pretty low. High dive height only.

Top of a tall building. Glass floor things. No problem looking out windows and such.

The following video, NO WAY.

Oh and yeah… the STL Thordaddy game was memorable in SO MANY ways.

We need to do that again. There are things you spend money on, and that time was like buying an antique for my mind. I will always remember it.

I may have shared this years ago.

This is a short video that I had one of the guides take with my camera. This is the highest and fastest zip line on earth... at least it was like 10 years ago. It's on the side of a volcano in Arenal, Costa Rica. I got kinda tricked into it by my wife. Once you take the first stage... you can't go back... you have to take the rest of the zip line stages to get to the bottom of this valley.

I fought through my fear and forced myself to keep going. It fucking sucked though. The damn thing will get you going over 60 mph if you don't "brake" yourself. You're supposed to brake yourself as you approach the end of each zip line so that you don't ram into the tower landing. Fuck that. I went full speed without braking on any of them and smashed into the big padding they have at the end of each tower. I couldn't go fast enough, and I was glad to smash into the tower at each end.

If you look closely at the beginning of the video you'll see everyone standing waiting for their turn... but I'm the guy sitting in the chair refusing to look at anything until I had to take my turn. You can see me as the camera pans around a little.

It's funny. I remember George talking about being afraid of heights before hand. I didn't really think anything about it. I think I teased him a bit that Becky is claustrophobic and she did it. Anyway, maybe I'm just stupid. I actually thought it was cool getting into that little capsule type thing that was honestly pretty rickety looking and feeling. It kind of swayed and jerked a bit as it climbed. Then the thing stopped on the way up. Mutherfucker! :ROFLMAO: Alas... we got there.

I gotta say, that was pretty cool and the view was totally bitchen'!

Not afraid of heights but I just scratched the arch off my list of things to do in Missouri. :laugh3:

I could easily do that. No problem with heights. I can stand on the edge of the cliffs. Not stupid enough to take a selfie though - dumbasses

Falling on the other hand - sorry I couldn't sky dive.

I also had problems repelling. Just couldn't lower my back all the way.

Also - I have been to the top of the Arch and thought it was pretty cool but I get bored easily and was ready to go back down after 15 minutes or so. Of course - this was back in 1977 when I was 15.
