Love the Bats baseball reference how are you familiar with them?
Well, in the Air Force at Wright-Patterson & an alum of the University of Dayton. We visit Ohio usually twice a year and always take in a couple of baseball games including heading to Louisville with their rich tradition of minor league baseball back when they were Louisville Redbirds (St. Louis) and now the Bats the triple affiliate for the Cincinnati Reds.

At 28 he's nearing the age where running backs start to approach the expiration date on their shelf life. But its not like he's had a lot of years getting beat up. He should still have enough in the tank to be a nice backup with vet experience.

Yeah he is up there in age now. That's true. Not like he's going to challenge for a starting role but if worst comes to worst we have an answer for taking handoffs and grinding the tough yards in some of the games where we'll need it.

You gotta have that element vs the better defenses in this league or they're gonna tee off in the rush.

Don't see how having "vet experience" at RB really helps much. Akers is a 4 year vet, rivers I think 3 years. For the RB room that's a ton of experience seeing how short the career of a RB is.
Michel is a tough inside runner and they get better with age up to a point. I don't think McVay know exactly what he's going to get with Akers, so Michel is now available as a bell cow if he chooses to deploy him like that.

Cam Akers = WTF, I'm the centerpiece. Ha, Ha, Ha.
Hope this doesn't send Cam into another temper tantrum/funk. If so, to hell with him.

Regardless, this is a great pick up for the Rams. Sony put the team on his back and carried them when they were in danger of cratering in November 2021 before their championship run. McVay then forgot about him and cut him.

Rams should have kept Michel on the team. They could have really used him last year when Cam went on strike. All he does is play hard, not complain, and keep moving the chains. I would take him over Akers every day of the week.

McVay sounded like he loved the way Akers looks now and at the end of last year in his close of OTA presser. If Michel has to start, let alone be counted on to carry the load, bad things are happening again.

Sony signed with Miami. Then The Rams had RB issues & let the Chargers sign him.Which Inthought was a mistake.
Now that Sony just signed again shows it was a mistake either way ?

Sony is insurance. If Akers goes down... what exactly do they have behind him? Nothing, from what we have see so far. Hopefully Evans and Williams go off this year but we all know Sony can do the dirty work.

Agh the reliable shirt yardage and most importantly pass protection pro Sony Michel.

Something we been sorely missing.

You Sony Michel detractors have anything to say for yourself?

Happy Birthday Yes GIF

I still have some of those cards!
I have close to an eidetic memory and my Uncle, who is 5 years my senior showed me that card I would imagine, it was in 1971 or 72 when I was 5 or 6 in the respective years and when @Loyal mentioned The Big Red Machine, that was the imagine that popped into my head and of course I had to google it.
