Figured something like this would be in the works with the field area not being big enough for the world cup they'll host soon. Gotta love engineers.

I wondered how they oud handle this, smart of Stan to comply and collect that extra cash & exposure.

Stan must have been smoking grass not thinking about soccer
for SOFI!!
IMO it means he has more LOVE for The Rams than the Arsenal

Pretty sure it wasn't the engineers - I'd go with the architect(s).

That said, very hard to believe no one brought this up during the programming/design process.

But shit does happen.:not:

Who in the world cares about soccer? Most useless sport ever invented.
I share the disdain of soccer with that of Dick Butkus who alluded to their running around in gym shorts as NOT worthy of the sport called FOOTBALL.
Rant over....

Interesting article, about field sizes at SOFI - and even putting in grass for soccer...

SoFi also will have a temporary grass field for the World Cup in place of its usual artificial turf. The stadium has already hosted soccer competitions on its regular turf, including last year’s CONCACAF Gold Cup final won by Mexico.

So glad a terrible take was here :)

Last World Cup finals reached over 517 million people watching it with an estimate of over 1.1 billion people watching at least part of the match. But yeah lets be small minded and thinking nobody likes Soccer :D

Also clearly our team and it's owner care about hosting this because of all that game day revenue they'll generate. Oh and he owns 2 soccer teams too so yeah I guess he does care about it.

Yeah that's a hilarious take, Soccer & the World Cup make the Super Bowl look like a High School game.

Yeah, but only about 60 - 70 of them could speak English, so there's that. And, Stan loves money, pretty sure that is more relevant to him than soccer...or football.

my brother played on a top college soccer team, was drafted by the mls, and played professionally in Europe. soccer is a surprisingly physical sport in terms of contact and injury resulting from that contact. it's purposeful contact, not only incidental, to physically dominate your opponent.

I've tried to get into it, but the abundance of Academy award winning flopping and pissing and moaning turned me off.

Australian rules football is a good middle ground.

What's cool about it is the complete lack of commercials. The first and second half are both completely uninterrupted sport with zero commercials even during injury.
