Snead talked about three UDFA making the 53 man roster and two of them, Thomas and Hummel, would be active on gameday. He didn't say the same with McCutcheon so where does that put him? Sixth or seventh on the WR depth chart is what it sounds like to me. Could change but Les makes it sound like he won't be gameday active.

But, he’s just an injury away for opportunities, even if (lets hope) short.

I'm excited to see Skow this year, to be honest. Sounds like a guy with a HUGE chip on his shoulder. Big, physical and athletic.. if he cleans up his catches, which his college tape shows clearly shouldn't be a problem, he could have a fun season.

This plus Skow is a pretty good blocker which we all know McVay requires while running out of primary 11 personnel. Idk if McCutcheon can block or not but I’m guessing that’s something that’ll take a bit to develop if he does. With his build and with that WR room.. I see him developing just fine as a blocker.

He's a big guy and seeing how physical he is when fighting for the ball, and I'm sure he's more than willing to crack down on an LB or DE.

Just too much talent to ignore. He is literally among the 5 most gifted WR’s on the Rams and I’m giving Atwell the benefit of the doubt because he hasn’t officially earned it in regular season games.

Temper those expectations perhaps, hope for his continued development but it might be too early to crown him a starting WR this season or next. Totally fair.
I think there are differences.. the biggest being physical fit for the position. Garrett was on the smaller side for what the Rams have their OLBs do. They don't mind the undersized guy as a rotational rusher, see Obo, but that's about it. They like bigger guys able to set the edge on 1st & 2nd downs. I thought Garrett would be able to grow into a rotational rusher, but I did not think he would ever be a starter.

McCutcheon? Prototype 3 down receiver, physically. He has to learn offense and refine routes.. and I think he'll get there.

Absolutely agree just think he won't be used right off the bat. Being able to block someone straight up is different than knowing angles, run directions coming behind you, and being able to pass off blocks to lineman beside you, etc. I just don't see him being good enough at that to satisfy McVay's expectations of his offense just due to youth and small school pedigree. Could surprise me though... I do have extremely high expectations for him long term though.

Oh, for sure.
I don't expect to see much of him until next year. But another full offseason in this offense, I think he'll be up to speed.

Garrett had potential, and I'm only saying this since others hype him up and I respect y'alls opinion, but I never saw him produce on the field like McCutcheon. The expectation was for him to possibly take snaps from Obo as a situational pass rusher.

And thats what stands out overall. The proof is there, yes he is green, but he will be amazing in the future. Its just learning the playbook more than anything else. He may master that in less depending on his drive and acumen. We’ll see but I am confident he will be 3 after Kupp and Arob

Well, Garrett had exactly one amazing series in one preseason game Last year.

McCutcheon has been dominant throughout practices and all 3 preseason games. Demarco Farr described him as the best player on the field on both sides in those 3 preseason games.

I think the optimism about McCutcheon is warranted while Garrett is officially a goner.

Tutu will be put in positions to succeed,so when he does get hit he may just bounce into the Endzone because he has excellent ball skills.
