Got several sessions for Christmas in a sensory deprivation chamber.
Water heated to body temperature, air heated to body temperature. The water is a foot deep and with a lot of Epsom salt. The chamber has no sound come into it and no light. So, supposedly, once you settle in you can't feel the difference between the water and the air. So, I have heard people describe it as a feeling as floating and great way to relax in a very deep way.
I want to get into this as, hopefully, a way to help with anxiety and stuff I deal with.
I was wondering if anyone has had any experience doing this?

@fearsomefour LOL that used to be used as a method of torture did you know that?
I don't doubt it.
Like a lot of things making the choice to do it makes all the difference. Perspective, you know? Like going to the gym....torture unless you decide to do it.

Well worth the price of admission. Got into sensory deprivation tanks a few years back when i was living over in London. You wont be disappointed - takes a little bit of getting used to before u can truly let go but once you do its zen zen zen. Enjoy...

Very cool.
How often did you go? Did you notice any benefits besides relaxation....creativity for example?

Do you hallucinate? I hear you start to see stuff like as if you were dosing

I don't know how much I would relax, being in water in the dark with complete silence. I guess it's supposed to be like being in the womb but I wasn't claustrophobic then.

Five or six times I'd say. Was working hundred hour weeks at the time and found it the best way to unplug and tune out the noise. Can't recall other ancillary fringe benefits to be honest but most definitely rejuvenating and relaxing...
