Taylor has been rising up the boards, lineage and underutilized at LSU, plus Taylor has the ability to become a higher-volume target for a team looking to upgrade at the “F” tight end spot.
To me he doesnt look any different than what we saw out of Davis Allen.
Now if they draft him, I'm all in. They see a heck of a lot more film than I do
I also think there are later round guys who can be just as good. <cough> Mitchell Evans <cough>

Well, in fairness before the year started I kept calling Taylor Evans & Evans Taylor. Maybe it was the Mason,Mitchell connection.

Looks much smoother, more athletic, more WR like, but still a good blocker.

Lance Zierlein was on Cowherd today and actually called him a big WR and he expects him to go late rd 1.

Also, the problem is the Vikings at 24 lack draft picks so they could be very willing to trade down and take a favorable deal to just get an extra 100 pick.
Yeah, if someone wants to trade up for dart, they’re likely to jump in front of the Rams. Whether or not the Rams are truly interested in dart, it’s out there.

On the brightside, if they are not interested, you want him going before us to push a better player to us.

#26 is kinda late isn’t it? Kinda?

I am beginning to think if they grab a QB it will be in the late 3rd or 4th or if they get a 5th in a trade. Then they take McCord Howard, or Ewers... maybe even Leonard later.

If Schrags is right about the QB board being Cam early then Sanders at 21, then Dart being on the board at 26 I'll be very happy with the first night. Don't really care if the Rams take him. I mean I love him as a futures QB, but I'd also be very excited about a trade down, add a pick, and scoop one of those TEs.

Also and btw Bech is probably in consideration if we move down. I think he comes into play for the Rams after Taylor and Ferguson go off. But he's a mini-TE slot beast type McVay can make use of.

Things going down the way Schrags expects would mean a trade down is possible too. I think teams would in that situation want to come back in late first round to get Shough, followed by Dart & Milroe in whatever way a team favors them. Either way I am very hopeful McVay gets the opportunity to take Dart given that they had a reportedly long meeting. If he passes on him so be it, trust his judgment and let's go get a weapon for a run and we have another pick which is nice in this draft. I think that round 3 range is a very nice stretch to get a good solid starter.

I call my kids each others names. Mostly on accident but sometimes to irritate the shit out of them. What can I say it's the little things.

Please god, no Riley Leonard. PLEASE

I agree that we wouldn’t get their 65th but we could certainly get them to add pick 154 which knowing us could be where we draft one of our best players :)

BTW according to this mock is Derrick Harmon still available at pick 33? Sheeeeeet…
100%. A team moving up has a specific need and a specific player they covet. Not asking to be ridiculous but leverage that want/need to a beneficial outcome for the Rams. Adding that R5.154 pick would be fair and beneficial. Give them a R6 pick to sweeten the deal if needed.

I am guessing with any trade down that they will try to get a 5th even if they have to give up a 6th.

maaan no matter what we're going to have a very tough decision to make tonight.
Bech in a move-down would be fine... but would you rather have a real move TE like Loveland & stay at 26, or trade down & get a "mini-TE" in Bech & an extra pick? what if Loveland AND Dart AND Egbuka AND Omarion are there?? tough, tough decisions gonna get made.

This is what makes the draft so fascinating.

Re: TE let me just say that what I want is a future Hall of Fame level stud. Someone who is going to chalk up big offensive contribution numbers year to year for the next decade. Which means he has to be an option route threat. Problem of course is I have no idea which of these guys bring that intelligence to translate in the option routes. But the Rams need to find it because in this draft there are many options to choose from.

Also keep in mind that many of the best TEs don't go early. Kittle is probably the best in the biz right now but he had all sort of knocks on his pass game acumen, he was seen as raw when he came out. In fact the TEs who go top ten tend to fizzle out. It's the projects who end up sorting into beneficial offenses that hit big. So the Rams are one of the offenses where that should happen.

Which makes it even more irritating that we haven't been able to find McVay a top TE. Because we have the ideal QB for making use of that type of weapon to keep the chains moving.
