This thread is the fault of our Boss and local ROD Hamburgler, @CGI_Ram.

Hamburgers & Hot Dogs are really a sandwich of sorts, and this may or may not deserve its own thread, but it got me thinking about all the other great sandwiches I love to indulge in.
I can't rate them because on any given day they are all the best, but a nicely grilled ribeye with melted cheddar slapped between two slices of rye bread with mayo is a fav, although a simple patty melt with grilled cheese & onions or a Turkey/Bacon Club or even a BLT sandwich with added avocado can also win the day. How about a Pastrami on Rye or a Corned Beef sandwich to win the moment ? Tuna, Ham & Chicken Salad sandwiches are also great on occasion. Hell, anything you can stuff between Pita Bread or a Tortilla could rightfully be called a sandwich, whether it be lamb or beef Kababs or Carne Asada. Some love a fried chicken breast in a bun. How about Pulled Pork sandwiches or a killer grilled cheese ? Are peanut butter & jelly sandwiches still a thing or have the kids graduated from Yogi Bear's stolen picnic baskets this century ?

Do you guys have a favorite go-to sandwich, or are you more of an 'On any given Sunday' whatever's in the fridge kind of sandwich eater ? And by Sunday's, I don't mean during a Rams game, they rightfully retain the game day food porn threads.

I’m not a huge sandwich guy. I like a Turkey and Cheese once in a while. If I feel the need to be fatter a Monte Cristo is worth the death of me.

Favorite sandwich was a Reuben, but instead of bread it was latkes. During the summer anything dripping with tomatoes, mustard and an aioli sounds refreshing and great. Especially on dutch crunch or a nice sour dough.

Also had a few pulled pork sandwiches when I was in Kansas City the last weekend (it was from a restaurant I don' t know; they did a huge takeout for the boccia athletes, though). Delicious. Pappy's pulled pork sandwiches are also delicious.

There was also a place in Indianapolis (right next to Lucas Oil Stadium) called Shapiro's that my mom and I stopped by on our way to Columbus. Had a huge roast beef sandwich and some large cookies from the place. Absolutely divine. Best roast beef sandwich I've ever had.

The PB&J is the best sandwich ever created, By leaps and bounds.
As for #2, which is a distant second place, is the classic BLT
Now if we are including tacos as a sandwich, the water gets muddy because a good fish taco is worth its weight in gold

All I know is that Jimmy John's is using high-quality ingredients in its sandwiches.

AND THAT'S A PROBLEM!

My non-hamburger favorites:

Breakfast Sandwich; A toasted Bagel, egg, bacon, lettuce, tomato. Think Tim Horton's Bagel BELT.

Lunch Sandwich; Reuben, toasted, 1000 Island dressing, corned beef, swiss, with sauerkraut. Oh Yeah! This is good for dinner too.

Dinner Sandwich; Roast beef with au jus on dollar rolls. This is a killer recipe cooked in slow cooker... thin sliced roast beef, soya sauce, lemon, brown sugar, tons of onion peddles. Cooked for hours then piled onto dollar rolls. Juice for dipping.

Damn... now I am hungry! :)

Yup, my mouth is watering now.

Ruben's, Philly Cheesesteaks, BLT's, most varieties of Subs & fish tacos all hit the right note.
Best fish tacos I've ever had were at the Wharf in San Diego, it must be time to take another trip soon.

A grilled cheese with bacon and tomato made with quality ingredients is almost impossible to beat for me.

There are a few others that I can't pass on too...

A real Cuban with extra pickles pressed for an extra long time.

A grouper sandwich made from with grilled or blackened grouper that was caught the same day. Lettuce, tomato, some red onion, spicy mayo, salt & pepper.

This is my favorite though. It's not easy to get this... especially fresh. A cracked conch sandwich made Po'boy style. That means with some good sweet coleslaw on the sandwich. The conch is pounded first. How did you read that last sentence btw? Then it is battered and fried. Some fresh tomato slices and some fresh hot pepper slices too. On a sub style roll. Heaven.

You guys are killing me. That conch Po'boy sounds absolutely amazing right now, even a New Orleans style fried catfish Po'boy is now getting my blood to boil ...

New York sesame bagel, lightly toasted, with a schmear of cream cheese, fresh smoked whitefish, cucumber and tomato.

Love it ...

I also like an onion bagel with cream cheese & leftover steak.
And how can I forget, ... a fried egg sandwich & melted cheese with mayo & mustard bacon or sausage on bread, a bagel or biscuit.

Non burger—Turkey Club. Extra Mayo. I don’t like my bread toasted tho.

I enjoy an old fashion tuna salad sammich with extra eggs.

Last, but not least…I LOVE the egg sandwich from Cracker Barrel. And I am not big on eggs. I assume it would be better at home. Cheesy scrambled eggs, thick cut bacon, Colby cheese on grilled sourdough with mayo and tomato.

If I'm ordering out and can find a good one a banh mi.

Viet Nam vet ?

My home made grilled cheese is two slices of thinly cut pepper jack cheese and two slices of thinly cut sharp cheddar, ... and always on rye bread.
