This is where I wonder what they do if Key is sitting there at 23. Oh boy. Careful what you wish for eh? :p

Landry probably is a short list topper right now for them, with this move as good as made. If they move down, then my guy Lorenzo Carter comes into play I think.

It’s up there, but I believe they like what Ebukam brings to the table. Don’t know how much, but enough apparently. I’d prefer to see how the FA period ends before assuming too much.

It's up there with other needs. Lets not act like Quinn was irreplaceable. Hell Longacre was playing and producing as well as Quinn before he went out with a back injury. And last year we added Ebukam who looked very good in his time playing.

Landry or key
I don't want key. Landry play DE or OLB? The rams could use an upgrade at DE opposite of Donald. If we're talking OLB, we take the best on the board or trade out to someone who wants a QB

I'm with ya, wouldn't touch Key. I've been big on Lorenzo Carter and he's moving up the ranks fast especially after what he did today at the combine. It'd be a trade down to take him sure but he's gonna be good.

Let's also not act like Longacre and Ebukam are any sort of answer for a blindside rush. Neither of those dudes have the quicks for it.

It is a huge need. Without a doubt the top need for this team now.

I like Carter a great deal too. A small move down and taking him would be outstanding. Then go get your CB2 and the rest of the bigger needs.

Longacre also contained the edge much better then Quinn did in the run game as well. Quinn and Longacre had similar sack rates per play. I really do think Donald made Quinn and Longacre appear to be better pass rushers then they really were this last season. The way Donald flushes the QB out of the pocket, it gives the guy's on the outside a chance to make plays.

Just my take..

Key? Y'all serious? Yea, that kid is ridiculously talented, but he has all sorts of character issues and half-assed it all year.

We'll see how he does at the Combine, but I like Hercules Mata'afa. I also like Obo Okoronkwo.

Longacre is no starter. He is a excellent rotational guy but if you think he can be a 3 down starter and have an impact you are seriously kidding yourself. We must have a huge amount of prospects we love deeper in the draft that we think will work out for us. If that is true, this could be the first transition our organization needs to get over this hump and become a perennial contender.

It's amazing! After reading 16 weeks and a playoff games gameday threads all of a sudden Quinn is irreplaceable. All year people complained he wasn't as good as a rusher any more. He only had one move. He couldn't set the edge and got abused that way. Now we trade him he's suddenly great.

I'm gonna miss Quinn as well but he wasn't the same the last few years and he had issues as an OLB in a 3-4.

It doesn't much matter if "people" complained if they aren't the same people in this discussion.

You never heard that BS from me. So I can care less about all that. Blindside rusher was a need before among the other ones. With 8.5 sacks out the door the Rams need a starter on the blindside period.

I wouldn't want a WR unless Watkins isn't returning, and I don't see a ready to start LT getting anywhere near our #23 pick. CB2 should be relatively easy to fill in free agency, same with a NT & ILB. If I had to choose today, my 1'st pick, whether at #23 or in a trade down, probably has to go to an OLB'er. After that it pretty much comes down to OL depth and another OLB. jmo.

The scenario you describe could easily become real, in that case I would pretty much accept that we'd be looking into trading down our #23 pick for a high 2'nd and 3'rd. The 2'nd would likely be used on an OLB and the 3'rd on a quality WR who could compete with Reynolds, maybe someone like DJ Chark who had such an outstanding Senior Bowl game. jmo.
