I still don’t know the difference between the rush push and a qb sneak. Most of the time I see it, no one is pushing Hurts from behind. It’s successful due to those big hogs they have up front and Hurts ability to find the crease, not from assistance from behind.

Also, no one is getting concussed from this. They are pushing each other, not running into each other at full speed. That reasoning is a cop out.

I don't care if they ban it. However, the tush push is lame to me because it doesn't look like a football play to me.

Like McVay says it looks like rugby.

I get why you are saying this but ALL of the linemen are leading with their heads. That's why the linebackers are trying to leap over the linemen and hit Hurts (right in the head). How else you gonna stop him?

To your point, however, I have yet to see a linemen suffer a concussion after this play.

I just don't like the play. Pushing runners from behind was never allowed in the past. In fact, I believe it used to be a penalty. Not sure when it changed but to me it's too much like rugby. Now get off my lawn!

He absolutely is being pushed from behind. How do you think the play got its name? Not only that but he often has a lineman holding him up while pushing from behind.

Just roll the rule back to 2005 and be done with it.

Once again I feel confused.
The Rams use the tush push in a different way. SO that’s why I ask the question! HAVE U watched The RAMS the last couple years ??? Justin Dedich did the push well, but wasn’t that strong(legs).
When Kyren Williams or even a WR would get stoodup The OFFENSE LINEMAN would get behind them & move the pile forward for EXTRA YARDS.
When you refer to HATING RUBY style FOOTBALL?? I actually lik it!! It is a SKILL & TEAM thing. It’s like a DEFENSE Gang Tackling !!
—My point is how The NFL writes The Rule on Tush Push. What’s legal & illegal??
—Any thoughts ?? Don’t know if you’re a NCAA Fan,but Matt Leirnt helped push Teggie Bush in the End Zone. Not sure if it’s legal or illegal. The Rule has changed Year to Year.

Yeah if they’re struggling to get the yardage but most of the time I see him roll through without assistance.

I’ll admit that I’ve only watched a handful of eagles games

It sounds like they will revisit the tush push in the May meeting, however, they may reintroduce the rule that was on place to disallow any pushing the runner or pulling the runner. It seems they only had 16 teams in support so maybe this will get the votes needed then. Our game is intentionally different from rugby so why we would want a play that looks like it.

just make it a penalty to push the ball carrier forward if said carrier takes the snap
