Haven't watched the game, seen the stats or watched the video that was posted of a situational play. Simply offering my reason for cheering Goff on even though he isn't a Ram anymore.
When Goff was traded I was very happy with the trade. His last couple of seasons here were less than inspiring and I believed a change was necessary for both the Rams and for Goff. That said, I was never comfortable with the way it went down, or the fact Goff was, to an extent, allowed to be made a scapegoat for the team's failings. Didn't feel it was a good look for McVay, Snead or the Rams.
Goff has always been a good guy, likeable, doesn't complain and doesn't deflect blame when things don't go well. He simply has a different leadership style than, say, Stafford.
I have no regrets about the trade that sent Goff to the Lions. Stafford did, after all, help us to a Super Bowl win. The team believes in him.
Goff is an easy guy to root for as are the downtrodden Lions and their fans. Campbell seems to be a great match for the Lions and Goff as well. I've enjoyed seeing him resurrect his reputation in Detroit and I enjoy their brand of football.
Like the article mentioned, it now appears to have been a win-win trade for all concerned. What's not to like?
