Cowboys get a LDE at 4 overall in a draft loaded at DE? Couldn't happen to a better team! :p

Launching my quest for league domination soon, so very soon... :mrburnsevil:

This forum deserves to have fanatical supporters or nobody would have started this forum in the first place. I can no longer support the NFL after losing two different teams. I'm also a St. Louisan first and an NFL fan second. I won't be posting after this mock is over. It will be a sad day for me and a large reordering of my daily priorities/activities.

Nonsense @Alan !!! You don't have to be a fan of the team to hang out and be amused. Look at @Rynie!

With the 4th pick in the 2016 NFL draft the Cowgirls select Joey Bosa DE, Ohio State.

This pick was made for @Jorgeh0605 without his knowledge or consent so you can't blame him. :LOL:

"1. Defensive End

This is a stat I’ve repeated ad nauseam since the season ended, but it bears repeating: as it stands right now, only one Dallas defensive end under contract for 2016 has ever recorded an NFL sack.

Sure, DeMarcus Lawrence enjoyed a breakout season and led the team in quarterback takedowns. He’s a solid building block for your pass rush, andRandy Gregory’s athleticism and upside are still plenty exciting despite a disappointing rookie campaign. But for a scheme that seeks to send waves of pass rushers after the quarterback, it’s hard to feel good about the guys behind those two – Ryan Russell and Efe Obada, for the time being.

Greg Hardy, Jack Crawford and Jeremy Mincey have all made meaningful contributions to this defense in the past, and they’re all about to be free agents. It wouldn’t surprise me one bit to see one or more of them re-sign with the Cowboys in the spring, and it also wouldn’t surprise me to see all three of them move on.

This much is clear: this roster is painfully thin on edge rushers, and I think the Cowboys would do well to address the situation in both free agency and the NFL draft."

Both of those scream Joey Bosa to me.

@PressureD41 is on the clock.
@Merlin is on deck.

That's what makes this fun. Those of us that aren't GM's in the draft can play Mel Kiper, Todd McShay or whoever your favorite talking head is and criticize/praise the moves of others. You make a good case for your trade and Garoppolo could be what you say. The problem for me is there's not enough track record at the NFL level to justify the cost. 20 completions for 188 yds in 2 seasons doesn't give me a warm fuzzy he's better that Keenum or Mannion. But as we know, QB's are the currency of the NFL, and if you're correct in your analysis, you'll have more than one suitor knocking on your door.

Since I'm playing the talking head, my question to you as a GM is, now that you've made the trade Mr. New England GM, what are you going to do for a back-up to Tom Brady? Depth Chart is might bleak at the moment if he goes down and the FA market is pretty barren

They were going to lose Garoppolo most likely after the Brady extension. Likely they will draft the replacement. Living in Boston I get a lot of information about what is going on. The plan as they speak now is to get someone in the system now to take over for Brady in the next 2-3 years.

The question is do they see that player in this draft? I think if Cook made it to the 2nd round then he might be the guy.

Word here is Garoppolo is likely to be available at the draft because there is 2 years left on his rookie deal so they can likely get more in return.

"Patriot insiders" think they NE wants a 2017 pick.

This sucks but I respect your decision. Hoping you reconsider

Why i'd take Foles in free agency after the Rams cut him.

OK, just kidding. Actually, at the moment, being that the free agency period has pretty much picked over what's available, i'd probably make a play for a veteran, someone like Tarvaris Jackson perhaps, then maybe Josh Johnson if that didn't work out. New England also happens to have (5) five 6'th round draft picks in 2016, so i'd stock up and run the rookies thru their paces. Remember, New England doesn't have any pick in the draft until the very end of the 2'nd round, so trading for the 43'rd overall will become our first decent pick in the draft. Once Brady signed his extension, Garoppolo became expendable, where at one time he was thought to be the teams future. Too bad our mock draft doesn't extend into the 6'th round, would have been fun to see which QB's might still have been available.

I was hoping to see some movement on the board this mornig, but I guess it's going to be another LONG Day! I'm pretty sure once it gets to @Merlin, @JackDRams, and myself it's going to go fast!! JMO :snicker::shades:

I know right. It'll be like three picks in a half hour. And that's if I'm stuck in a meeting at work lol

Indeed. But couldn't you imagine an Ezekiel Elliott in that Jaguars offense? Would have been sweet.

That would of been a nice touch too. Paired with Yeldon, that would be a lot of weapons on offense. That offense kind of came into its own last year. Their LB's are getting a little long in the tooth though.

They are a sneaking good team. They could be very dangerous next year.

But your right. Elliot, Yeldon, Hurns, Robinson, Thomas, Lewis, that gives Bortles a lot of toys to play with.

At 6 overall the Ravens hire Eddie Kennison (this is a Rams board dammit!) to sprint the following pick to the podium:

OT Tunsil.

Booya!

Damn you sir. I was about to sprint to the podium for Tunsil. But since I have received no trade offers, I will announce my pick in a minute.
