Not sure how many former RRF (realramsfans) members are here, and most that had posted there don’t visit, but it appears that it has finally completed its death spiral. Been a couple days that it’s down
Farewell if so, was a great site at one point

I tried several times to register there, even talking with one admin on facebook to get it fixed and their site would never seen the email to me to confirm my account. Sad, I'd have like to participate there but it just never worked for me. I've never had that problem with any other site before.

I was there reading and lurking almost everyday. I miss a lot of the posters there, esp rev & u got & coach O & mFranke. I learned a lot about football that I could never have known reading puff pieces on e$pn. I'll miss it if indeed it's gone but I'm pretty sure it died with the move.
That said ROD kicks the tar out of every other board I've tried. & I still see a few RRFers here, I saw @Juggs here the other day.

Left there about 4-5 years ago and headed straight here. It’s great to be part of this community!

I know it was supposed to be tongue in cheek, but I always found it odd that their main Mod would use Farrakhan, a notorious bigot, as a username.

Gone? Alas I hardly knew ye. I looked at the site a few times but never was interested enough to join. Every thread they had was here and our threads had far more activity. I really don't have time for more than one Rams board and this one is by far the best one I have ever seen.

Was great in its heyday. A lot of us moved there from the official Rams board when that was killed in 2005. A lot of great people and was ran well at the time. I was surprised it was still "running" this long. Not sure most of the main admins stayed rams fans after the move but could be wrong. Interest definitely tanked afterwards. I miss Rev's camp photos and reports though... nothing has equaled those quite yet since the move.

RIP RRF

twas a slow and painful death... RamBill was pretty much the sole survivor

It had been years since I saw any of the mods online...SonDee, Racetech, Rev or Ark..tho I still talk to Steve and Aaron on FB

* reminds me that I have to make a donation here so ROD continues to stick around

I've already said my piece over the years on what happened at RRF and why it went down the tubes, so enough about the past.

But I will add that in my experience the ultimate success or failure of every website, business, or sports team is totally dependent on those at the top, those calling the shots.

Here at ROD it's no different(and I'm referring to the two owners and the founder of this site). That's why ROD is as great as it is. Good, decent quality people.

IMO it's how the site is "adminned" first and foremost. Ownership can matter but I know of a site that had/has a great owner and was badly managed by admins that is a shadow of it's former self.

So it's BOTH. And one isn't more critical, they are both equally important.

The owners here are the admins along with @-X-.

And yes, a site owner can choose poorly when it comes to the mods who operate under them, even as the owner of a football team can hire the wrong coaches, as we long-suffering Rams fans know all too well.

Some sites, as well as football teams, have owners who are hands-off. That's not the case here at ROD. My point is that we are in good hands here.

Mahalos for the kind words.

We should all be very thankful for the Mod Squad we have here though. You guys are the BEST!

And our membership Kicks Ass too!!!

The place was almost golden, but changed dramatically (for me) when Mofo, then Cumby left. Though I believe Mofo came back as Steve and hung around a bit.

Anyway...Rev backed it down and Son Dee stepped forward and....well I don't mind saying that dude was a fucking dick. He lives here somewhere in Atlanta near me and I have zero desire to meet the dude. Yet, I've travelled halfway across the country to have a beer with others, both from RRF and here.

Anyway...no real reason for me to blabber on about a distant memory, except maybe to call a complete stranger a fucking dick one more time.

Like a lot of you here at ROD, I cut my Rams Forum teeth at RealRamsFans.com. and way before ROD was created. I was just learning computers and how to surf the net when I found that Rams forum. I was overjoyed to find a place where I could talk Rams with like minded fans from around the world. Until the "move to LA" controversy divided forum members and ROD was created, it was my main source for Rams news. I would still occasionally visit the site and go back into the archives. Sadly a few days ago, the site is no longer there, a tragic by product of the move to LA.

I know there are a lot of ROD posters here that are former members of RRF and glad to still interact with here. Also a lot of new friends.

Lost are a lot of good folks and knowledgeable friends that now I have no way of knowing what happened to them. Sad, but time moves things along.
