One thing about playing Detroit is if you can pressure Goff - he is not that good.

However, give him time and he is deadly.

If we play Detroit, we need to keep the pressure on no matter how we do it

Blitzes stunts etc etc etc

Unfortunately, he is one of the best at PA passes and we suck against PA passes.

One potential advantage is that, while we rest our starters, all our of our potential WC round opponents need to play to win, so they will have to expose their key players to injury.

Adam Schefter is reporting that Kupp, Higbee and Kyren Williams will all sit-out this week.

Going out on a limb that Aaron Donald will also be on the list.

I want to see Wentz play well and Rivers/Freeman. Thats the key to our offense. Defense without Donald and Jones looks bad, but maybe the backups will have some fire!

yeah
I’m sure he does want it. But does he want it bad enough to toss a key piece out there in a meaningless game?

I could see him giving Puka snaps if

1. Puka asked for it - told him it was important to him. McVay might ok it then

2. There is some contract incentive in llay

That’s about it. Otherwise this is an easy decision
Mcvay pretty much confirmed today.

They will get puka the record.. then likely sit him.

The advantage vs QBs who are heavily dependent on PA is that you can shift your defense when he turns his back to fake that handoff.

Time for the league to make it so players don't sit. Injuries are one thing. Playoff format change possibly. They have an extra game the league wanted and little Jimmy won't very to see all the stars today. Sorry son. Lol

Maybe but if the run game is going well, we will have a real tough time against him.

However, we have been doing extremely well against the run this year so.......

If we do well against the run, I think we win this game.

If not, we probably lose.

Agreed on all. We could actually stop the run vs them and still lose. Because they have a stacked group on offense and we're not ideal back there in the secondary.

Just observing that there is a drawback to dependency on play action and it's why we traded him. Now whether Morris has the guys to take advantage of that... I would think he gets him on some snaps but chances are we're gonna give up points in chunks to them too.

I think we're more likely to lose than win vs all the top seeds we might see. We're definitely a longshot but of course we're also the team with nothing to lose so quite dangerous too.

Another question is, is the team we are playing in the wildcard round also resting their starters this Sunday?

None should be resting starters.

The Lions can get the 2 seed if both the Cowboys and Eagles lose. Since they play in the early window while the others play in the late window, the Lions should play to win. The Cowboys and Eagles play at the same time, so both will play hard to get or protect the 2nd seed.

Which is an advantage to the Rams.

I just read that the 49ers stars will practice in preparation for starting on Sunday. All but CMC will play some amount in the game.
