odd choice, not a great fit for them in current scheme but they may be moving more to Fangio-sh stuff. Don't see him a a 4-3 end ... tough teams rarely play base but they are or were more like the 49ers or Texans than the Eagles or Rams ...

but they must have a role for him. Maybe they change the scheme some ... will be something to follow

Actually a pretty creative structure by the Jets. If he meets the criteria, they'll gladly take the 10+ sacks for the second round pick. They can let him go at the end of the year and get a potential 3rd rounder back (compensatory).
If he doesn't meet the criteria, they give up a 3rd and their compensatory pick would not likely be a 3rd, but they certainly would get a pick in return.
Pretty low risk overall with nice potential in a "win-now" season for them.

I guess the screaming match Robert Saleh got in with management at the meetings got him something.

Reddick wanted more money. If his agent pushed this deal I have to wonder if the Jets want/plan to give him an extension.

It will be interesting to see how he does this year. When hot he can change a game. However, he can disappear for stretches.

Said screaming match has been debunked by the alleged screamer.
I’ve no idea regarding the circumstances

I do know, that if I had screamed at the guys paying me a butt ton of money to be a mediocre coach, I would have sprinted to a microphone to bury that”rumor “

He didn't do the debunking. There were two people screaming in the alleged incident. The owner of the team said it was a bullshit report and the reporter apologized and retracted.

Another team worried about pass rush.
