Listening to Tavon Austin saying that he felt disrespected that the Rams traded him, but that he was happy to be dealt in a professional manor it made me realize, damn, that draft was trash.

The top 10 picks of that draft:
Eric fisher
Luke Joeckel
Dion Jordan
Lane Johnson
Ezekiel Ansah
Barkevious Mingo
Jonathan Cooper
Tavon Austin
Dee Milliner
Chance Warmack

Sure you had some studs like DeAndre Hopkins, Le’Veon Bell, Travis Frederick, Travis Kelce, and XAvier Rhodes, but by and large, there is nothing to brag about.

Austin felt disrespected when they traded him? How about we felt disrespected by his play. Or lack of. If he's not an outright bust he's been a huge disappointment at the very least. And its not like they didn't give him every chance to be a difference maker.

He is about like the rest of those guys. I think its untrue that he was lazy. He played in the worst offense ever.
A lot of passes have been given by just about everyone here for somebody during that era...
When Tavon scored 10 tds in a season, that was a legit football player whose role as a multipurpose weapon was successful.

I know he was never great and people want more from a high pick.

But yeah, the hate here for him has always felt a little over the top.

Yeah but if memory serves, we traded up for Tavon Austin.
Yeah, you guys traded away a 1st, 2nd, 3rd, and 7th for him and a 3rd rounder. But when you actually see who the Bills took with those picks (EJ Manuel, Kiki Alonso, Marquise Goodwin, Chris Gagg) it’s makes it harder to swallow, I mean Goodwin is doing well for the 49ers, and is essentially the same guy as Austin.

Well technically, we traded 3rds and Buffalo's was 8 spots higher so it wasn't all those. Still - in hindsight (a powerful non-factor) it wasn't a great trade up or pick. I was all in on the guy but it didn't work out here. It happens with all teams.

Disrespected? Fuck off, Tavon and take a look at Tyreek Hill. That's who you were supposed to be, and instead of letting you rot on our bench we give you a chance to play meaningful snaps for another team, but you say we disrespected you? After we traded up to get you? We clearly wanted you, but you couldn't make it happen. Even on Saturday with that punt return, you should have gone for 6, but you took yourself out of the play by tripping over air.

The only picks in that top ten that I thought would be good were Ansah and Warmack.....,and both of them are nothing special.

I said Hopkins was better than Sammy and LeVeon should be a first round pick, but I was overruled.

And the one guy that I thought would never pan out is Tavon. I was against picking him from the start.

And yet there are still people that claim that no fan can pick as well as a GM. Pfft.

When you say it like that...:eek::eek:!! Basically though, we traded a 2nd and a 7th. In return we got a higher 1st and a hire 3rd.

He also played under McVay for a full season and still didn't manage to do much. That's the problem imho

Tavon is such a POS. Dude who was disrespected is the owner, or Jeff Fisher who stuck his neck out to get him extended. He was paid well and given every effin opportunity. Disrespected???

Yep. missed camp with an injury, struggled to keep up and had injury issues throughout the year.
And McVay had Gurley, Woods, Kupp and Watkins.
What did you expect from him in that scenario?

McVay noticed that Tavon misdirection though and got a lot out of it.
NFL defenses ALWAYS respected Tavon more than any of his doubters.

Dalls wanted him and McVay didnt need him and the Rams fo didnt need his cap hit. Win win.
And being mad at Tavon being honest about the emotions he felt?
- lame. Those were his friends. He is human. Big whoop.
Tavon was drafted too high and paid too much. Thats all. Any other personal complaints are just excessive.
Do I wish the healthy Tavon from his best year was here this year to return punts and maybe get used once in a while instead of our 5th and 6th Wr/returners - if money were not a concern?
ABSOLUTELY YES.

He wasn't disrespectful about.
Jesus Christ.
Character has never been a complaint.
I remember him busting his ass downfield blocking after he was fazed out.
When guys believe they are part of something and then get traded they have an emotional response about it.
Who doesn't.

He had just scored 10 tds and got a deal and then broke his wrist. He never didnt give effort.

I still remember almost throwing remote at tv when they announced the Fning trade. You don't trade up for smurfs!!! Sh!t He didn't amount even into a Ginn Jr for us. Still makes my blood boil when I hear he's name And watching him trash talk on sidelines to his teammates ugh!

Ezekiel Ansah is best player in that list

And remember that year, he had at LEAST 4 TDs called back on really stupid penalties.

Had he gotten credit for the 14TDs, I think it's a different conversation, although I don't think it's a different result.

Heck, Tavon ran another back in the Cowboys' latest game and it got called back.
