I see no reason not to have high expectations of him.. he's an older prospect who seems to have a good work ethic.

The upside may not be there for a Danielle Hunter-type guy.. but I've seen Zadarius Smith comps.. I don't hate that at all.

I love him as the answer to our edge rusher need.

Is he a starter the other two downs immediately?

And that’s a Q for everybody, not just Snacks
Better run defender. Best part is in those full pass rush sets you drop Verse to a 5 tech opposite Turner bring in another olb and feast. This guy is exactly the player we needed. Shula has to be very happy, can't wait to hear from him.

Sure sounds like McVay is saying he'll start at OLB but if he can master everything they're asking for there they want to also have a package for him over guard.

He'll be the next LT.

Think? Did he not get nailed twice for cheating with SpyGate and with DeflateGate?

I even stated, and I quote myself verbatim, "He may be a brilliant defensive mind, but he'll always be a cheating bastard in my books."

Just because he said something positive doesn't make him any less of a cheating bastard, and I will never forgive the man for taking away a potential dynasty from our team.

Unless there was an upgrade at LT over Jackson, I'd hate it. We might need a back up RB, but I'd be for moving up in the 2nd round to land Verse's teammate (DT) from Florida State. We can't replace AD without two Dline players of high caliber. Plus, we need another good-great CB's after that, or maybe a stud ILB to complement what we have.

We definitely need a backup RB - Kyren going down last year was painful. WR is a big need too for after this season.

We aren't replacing AD no matter what - but we now have our three pass rushers in Young/Verse/Turner, and Hoecht is now very solid depth there.

DL is still a need and I bet we take one today - but there is no way IMO that we leave round 3 without taking some weapons.

There is plenty of talent in this class, and I’ve seen plenty that have said as much that are pretty credible.

That’s outside of doing my own assessment of watching what I can of the players that catch my attention. Going to be some pretty good gems late in this draft.

I've seen it said elsewhere too, party because Covid pushed a lot of talent into this class. And last night, some of it got pushed down in the mad rush for QBs, not all of whom I think justified their draft position.

Also, the quote in your post is wrong, everyone know it was Fredrick the Great who said that, not Genghis Kahn. Pffft.

Call it fate. Timing. Whatever. But if this were any other draft year a guy like Verse woulda been gone long before the 19th pick. We were lucky with so many offensive players going before the pick. This was both need and BPA for us. Could not have worked out any better than it did.

Been saying this forever but apparently wherever these people get their sports talk media from are misinformed surprisingly and I’m schooled because it’s not rocket science. Tells you a few things, the horrible Sports Media and wannabes now a days like Jake, and secondly the misinformed who follow them thinking they have a high football IQ.

Ps btw Fredrick the Greats’ quote was, “Death smiles at us all, only thing a man can do is smile back” in which is he referencing an ancient Hindu priest, Obi Wan Kenobi.

I see him as a more powerful Brian Burns who we almost gave up multiple first round picks to get

I'm not a college football or draft guy, so I don't know much about most prospects until I look them up after hearing their names thrown around multiple times.

I liked Latu's pass rush skills but I thought Verse was a better fit. We need someone with power that won't get bullied by the Niners OL on the edge.

Bro is going to collapse some pockets, I'm excited.

Two Verse clips, show him chop step to get LT off balance.

also, Verse has the best base I think, his build is thick -- big thighs and legs
and he's very twitchy ... to me, more so than Latu. More sudden in his movements.

Given the choice between Verse and Latu I prefer Verse... didn't think he'd be around
