I get that but 2 for the whole year? That's downright terrible. It shows we need more juice at that position big time.

Just add another RB with juice no matter where the pick is. I'm also not opposed to adding a Judkins to our backfield. He's head and shoulders way more athletic than what we currently have at the position. If they go that route, I personally rather they do that and trade Kyren out or let him play his contract out if the return offers for him are shit. I'd rather not pay him long term as I don't think it would be a great investment. Those 2nd rlRB contracts are notoriously shitty. I would think an extension is only appropriate if it doesn't break the bank. My only concern with that is what does that say about Corum who in my opinion showed more burst than Kyren.

More burst but less wiggle and not the same level of vision.

I still think Judkins could do more damage in this offense than Kyren but that's just my opinion and I actually like Kyren. That vision you mentioned somehow led to Kyren having the worst year of his career in regards of average yards per carry with him also him putting the ball on the ground (fumbles) while leaving too many yards on the field. He's not going to get much faster unfortunately. Unless he's willing to take a very team friendly deal, I'd think it would be foolish of the Rams to resign him to a long term deal. We are going to find out very soon what the Rams value him at since they are meeting with his agent this week. Also as much as I like Judkins (think he's gonna be a bonafide stud), I have a feeling the Rams will use the high pick it would take to draft him to address another position.

Too many yards left on the field? In most cases he got more yards than were there. And, don't forget the Online injuries. Throw in the center shuffling and lack of cohesion on the line. I think it waa clear that the offensive line played worse in 2024, than it did in 2023. Karen can only do so much by himself.

Kyren is really excellent in a few ways. He is very shifty with great vision and balance. Some of his very best runs are finding 2 yards when there was really a negative play there. He is a capable, if underused, receiver. His pass pro is among the best in the NFL and he has bailed out his OL more than a few times.
I love his game overall.
He just doesn't have finishing speed.
So many times this last year he would hit a hole or make a cut and there was green grass in front of him....and he would get tripped up or caught from behind or the side.
I certainly wouldn't mind adding a guy thats more of a home run hitter, but, you are correct. How many reps are you going to take away from Williams to try and spring a speed back?

He has a combination of very good traits that are effective enough that its not necessary to draft a back early imo. Sure, he doesn't have break away speed. That's not his game. He still is one of the best backs in the league.

The Bills dropped contract talks with RB James Cook because he won't budge from his $15 million per year demands. I hope Kyren doesn't have the same sense of worth.

If the Rams had explosive pass catchers in terms of running away from defenders, the Kyren problem wouldn’t be as magnified in my eyes.

You never feel like our backs are going to to break away when they get to the second level. There’s always a tackle.

Kyren is a quality chain mover and pass protector. He’s decent around the goal line. Has sporadic ball security issues.
If that’s all you want from your feature back then fine, extend him. Call it good.

My view is he gets more touches than anyone else on offense so we need a true weapon there.

The Rams need to add about 6-7 points per gm to the output this year. That’s alot.

Fact is, the Rams offense hasn’t had a 30ppg offense since Gurley was here. In the ‘21 championship year (27ppg) we got a God mode season from Kupp.

22,23,24ppg and a solid but plodding run game with Stafford throwing to Nacua and Adams isn’t enough.

I’ll keep banging the table that the offense needs a tool to scare defenses that doesn’t put so much weight upon our aging QB’s arm to deliver.

From where do you see this offense taking the next step this season? Assuming you believe it has to take that next step to represent the NFC.

@Mojo Ram I recently posted I'd rather the Rams get a stud RB over one of these two top TEs. A Gurley type RB in the offense would explode. The Rams would get that extra 6-7 points, along with a game breaker. They can get a 3-5 TE at 90, not a game breaking RB there. IMO.

Yes, he absolutely is.
But watching Omarion's tape... man, he just blew by tackles. Didn't have as much "wiggle" as Kyren, but when there's green grass ahead he's gone. His running style does remind me of Gurley, a bit... I haven't seen anyone like TGII since I watched his GA tape in '15, but the closest I can see in this draft is Omarion.
As I've posted several times here & there, a 1-2 punch of Kyren with someone like Omarion or Tuten would be devastating -- run the explosive back in the 1st half, get a lead & grind them down with Kyren. Keeps both backs fresh for a deep playoff run, unlike when we had Gurley in '18 and ran him into the ground, limped into the SB w/ CJ & promptly embarrassed ourselves.
And if Kyren does happen to get hurt, Corum steps in. Rivers for back #4 / STs.
Honestly, if we are to get the most bang for our buck in this draft, we get an explosive RB. A "move" TE would put the icing on the cake.
