Outside of Ashton Jeanty, we shouldn't be taking a HB at pick #26. If we want to draft a HB with our first pick, we should trade down. Unless a miracle happens and Jeanty is there.
Yeah, he's dynamic at times. I have (maybe unfounded) concerns about his ball handling. We already have a guy who goes through stretches with ball handling issues.

Used to be they al.ost exclusively drafted from the Shrine game or the Senior bowl. Now much less so.

Still the way they meet with has changed as well.Whatever they’ve done the last 2 seasons I hope they continue to do the same.
I’d say maybe sign 2 players they’ve meet with at least anything else as a UDRFA.
—What The Rams did last season was sort of remarkable as well.Look at player Ram Fans still don’t even talk about who contributed for them during the season & playoffs.

Ronnie Rivers is a question, but how Cody Schader moved ahead of him on the roster ? These aren’t the players I’m posting about, but thoughts of Rivers being from Fresno State(Adams), and The Rams need more depth.

Watching Detroit last season & looking at The Rams depth at RB.

The Rams need an extra RB.Old School touting the RB Class,I don’t see how there won’t be RB drafted in 2025.McSnead & Snisher have always tried to find value at RB.

Kyren Williams not being signed will on have The Rams looking toward 2026 & Beyond !!

Jeanty is special. Top 5 player in the draft. But I highly doubt he falls to #26. Hampton is not special imo. He's a good prospect, but he's the sort of guy we see every year. If Jeanty is gone, we should not draft a HB in the first round.

With Kyren and Corum, I'd wait until Day 3. There will be some good HBs available on Day 3. As you said, it's a deep draft. If we go HB earlier, Treveyon Henderson is intriguing. He's not powerful and doesn't make a ton of guys miss, but he's explosive, has great vision, and is very skilled in the passing game. If we want more big plays, Henderson is the type of guy who can provide them.
Couldn't disagree more with this assessment on Hampton.

There is not 4.42 supposed 40 time vs 4.46 and many other attributes are very similar. He's not some off the charts freak compared to Omarion.

I doubt he'll be better than Jeanty because of pass game usage. But I think he'll be a long term bellcow who can flip the field.
He averaged something like 9.8 yards and had more yards and receptions receiving than Jeanty last year?

Don't get where people are getting their info from?

And it’s not even debatable for me. Jeanty more than likely goes top 25.

I agree with some people who don’t want to pick up a RB that high.. shit I was hesitant to take Gurley at 10. if we get an explosive WR3, TE this guy tops off our offense and makes us hard to stop and multi-faceted instead of throwing it only to Puka.

After watching that guy, draft him. Dude is a beast that runs a 4.47. We will regret it if he is not a Ram.
No TEs early. Seans first pick was one that did not really work out. Or he might pick one and not use TEs a lot like he tends to do.

Do the Rams EVER pick who they've met with? I seem to recall that being a thing a few years ago where we met with several players only to not pick any of them. Misdirect before the draft?
That’s a damn good question. I wonder about that all the time.
“Why are they meeting with these guys when they never pick them?”

Two years ago there was another loaded TE class. They met with some and picked none of them. I see a few TEs on Merlin’s list for this year. Should I be glad the guy I want is NOT on it?
Lol.

There was a a time when for 2-3 years they drafted at least a 1/3 who they met with.

Since then it’s been pretty thin tbh.

Think of this as well, he basically The Tarheels full offense as Drake Maye came to the NFL last year. Two teams were able to sell out and stop him, the rest? Well didn’t do so well.

Yeah I am aware he had a lot more yards receiving than one would think. I just think from a projection standpoint that Jeanty will be more dangerous for the pass game. But I think Hampton deserves some cred for being a thoroughbred type who runs well behind his pads and can shoulder the load. That's a unique skill in itself IMO.

I think Jeanty overrated and think Hampton better

Rams have taught me to never rule anything out in the draft. :laugh3:
Same. I wouldn't put it past McVay trading up for Jeanty. I wouldn't be thrilled by the trade up, but, I would be thrilled by Jeanty. Best back I've seen in a while. I'd prefer a trade up for Warren, Loveland, W. Johnson, or Barron but I trust McVay.
