The Batman 7 out of 10 for me.

Probably my 4th favot]rite Batman movie behind The Dark Knight, 1989 Batman, Batman Begins.

Definitely a different take, with more emphasis on previously ignored talents. Patterson is ok, his Bruce Wayne was beyond weak and silly looking. Zoë Kravitz is gorgeous but not my idea of Selina Kyle. The Penguin character was also weak IMO. Not a Jeffery Wright fan but he was really good.

If you’re a comic person or just love super hero movies this one is for you. If you like a decent story it may suffice.

Don’t Look Up - 8/10

Very disturbing look at modern society and what may happen should a comet hurtle towards Earth. :woozy2:

Schindlers List - Netflix

I've kinda wanted to watch this for the 30 years it's been out but the wife never did and I was hesitant that it would just depress me.

She was going out on Saturday and as it gets thrown off Netflix at the end of this month I thought I'd give it a go.

Totally remarkable.

Seldom have I seen a film where the acting, screenwriting and direction are all almost flawless.

I can see why it scores 9.0 on IMDb.

A harrowing yet heart-warming story and not for the squeamish.

It's tough to say you enjoyed a movie like this for obvious reasons, but jeez if you haven't watched it you probably should.

Aaron Donald/10

“Call of Heroes” - 9.25

I want to put the rating into context. I’m rating this a 9 as a Classic style Martial Arts movie. I’m aware that these films suit a specific type of viewer. I grew up watching King Fu Masterpiece Theater. I’ve watched 100’s of Kung Fu movies. This is the best I’ve seen. It’s knocked my favorite, “Heroes Two” to number two.

It is on Prime. Good story that isn’t outdone by excessive, fight scenes. The choreography is very well done. It stars two of my favorites in Eddie Peng and Ching Wan Lau

Excellent.
I'll look out for that.
I also grew up watching kung fu movies on VHS through the mid 80's.
Those old Shaw Brothers and Golden Harvest.
There's been a few classics on Netflix like Drunken Master and 36th Chamber of Shaolin.
I rewatched A Chinese Odyssey 1 and 2 recently. Not as good as I remembered them though.

8/10 The Batman.
Some spoilers below.

Not sold on Pattinson's Bruce Wayne, but I thought his Batman was superb.
Obviously Bale got three movies to develop his Wayne and we did get an origin story with him.

Penguin was a bit poor, expected more I guess.
Good take on the Riddler.

It's an incredibly dark and grim film. Just how a Batman film should be.
There's certainly a lot of growth with Pattinson's portrayal of Batman to come.
Remember that he was in year two so we don't see any origins here.

None of them are as good as they were when I was young, but then again neither are the old Godzilla movies I loved growing up.

I remember watching this movie in a high school class. It absolutely deserves all of the praise it gets.

Pattinson’s Wayne took out the playboy version, and replaced with a dreary emo. Hated the bat cave also but the Batmobile was totally bad ass

Antlers- Horror movie on HBO

Not bad, a little freaky. Kerry Russell stars.

I‘d give it a 7 out of 10. If you don’t like gore or scares pass on it.

Russell is good in it.
I didn't enjoy it that much, an interesting idea with potential that sort of settled for gore I think.
But, well shot and they did well overall with a lower budget.
Id give it a 5/10.

Watched this on Prime over the weekend. It's free.

It's the 2nd most fucked up movie I've ever watched... very close to being the #1 most fucked up though. It starts a little slow, but after they get to Sweden... Holy Fucking Shit Man.

Ok. The 2nd most fucked up? What the fuck does that mean? I hope it's not your rating, but that the story is frightening. I'm gonna watch it right now, with my wife. I haven't told her it's fucked up either. I hope this goes well! (lol)

Honestly, to me? It’s the beginning of Midsommar that’s the scariest.

But it wasn’t too fucked up to me; I’ve written much scarier stuff.

Open Range (2003) 7.5 of 10.0

Kevin Costner, Robert Duval, Annette Bennin, and Michael Jeter
I enjoyed this modern western.. Costnerr portrays a cowhand in Duvall’s free range cow outfit, but he ‘s also a retired gunfighter. All hell breaks loose when an established ranch owner kills a fellow cowhand and seriously wounds a kid who’s being mentored by Duvall. Benning is Costner’s love interest and a great line he said was: “I’ve killed and I’m gonnna be killing a lot of men today.” To try and scare her off…..

Encanto was boring.

3/10.

C'mon Disney/Pixar, get your shit together.
That's what happens when you ditch villains. Surface Pressure is a kick ass song though. For anyone into hard rock, there's quite a few covers on YouTube already and it really works in that style.

See i didn't enjoy of the songs either. Seems like they just threw them together, which I know isn't the case in reality.

No villains? Raya was pretty good. So was Luca and Soul.

But you bring up a good point. What was the last Disney or Pixar movie w/ a villain? King Candy? That dude from Big Hero 6? I miss Scar and General Ratcliffe. Oh and Frollo. Jeez, that was Disney?

I thought the angry cat lady and her mom were the villains in Raya.

Incredibles 2 had a villain. That was... Somewhat recent ish.

Incredibles 2 brought in a real world political line that ruined the whole movie for me. I'm gonna have to watch that one again.

Namari and the Fang clan, they were bounty hunters but ended up tag teaming with Raya. They weren't true villains.
