Triple 9

Crime drama. 7 out of 10. Casey Affleck, Anthony Mackey, Aaron Paul and more.

Not the greatest movie, decent action.

Dunkirk. 6/10. Thought it was a little overhyped.

Should've known. Oscar movies are notoriously disappointing.
I usually hate Oscar Winning movies

Sorry I am not into artistic movies at all

Birdman
Any Clint Eastwood directed oscar winner
Meryl Streep winning movies
Etc

I just can't get into them

The most recent Oscar Winning movie that I liked was Return of the King

But then again - I like all fantasy movies even when they are pretty bad.

Note - I am not implying Return of the King was bad - that one was awesome

However ... Legend (Tom Cruise fantasy movie) - that one was hard to like

Watched a couple more...

Sonic - 8/10. Much better than I thought it would be; lot of references to the original games which made me smile. It's actually a really simple plot but works well.

Tom and Jerry - 5/10. I wasn't expecting much at all. I appreciate the classic antics but didn't like the main plot line. It had its moments though, and a couple cameos that today's kid probably have no idea who they are. Still something to just watch without thinking too much.

Believe it or not, I normally don’t have a two hour block of time to just sit and watch a movie....or, I’m addicted to 20 minute YouTube videos that satisfy my undiagnosed ADD...lol

Strike that previous comment. I just rewatched "The Goodbye Girl," with Richard Dreyfuss and Marsha Mason the first time since 1977. Dreyfuss made this movie and Close Encounters of the Third Kind simultaneously and both were released the same year. Both of them gave oscar worthy performances and I think he won the Best Actor Oscar back when that award mattered...

5 Stars. So good.

Just finished watching 'The Peanut Butter Falcon' on Amazon Prime. Kind of an odd family movie that I might not normally pay much attention to, but it has Shia LaBeouf, Dakota Johnson & Thomas Haden Church, 3 actors who I like, so thought i'd give it a chance. Happy that I did, ... and would give it a solid 4.5 out of 5.

The Girl in the Spiders Web. Great movie. The main character played by the same young lady who played the Queen in the first two years of "The Crown".

I thought Rooney Mara deserved the Best Actress Oscar in 'The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo', so have been disappointed that she couldn't complete the original trilogy. Now that there's a 4'th book in the series, i'll have to visit it if I find who is offering it, although Amazon Prime & Netflix are not as yet.

Oscar-winning movies. 1939. These are the movies up for best picture in 1940. (1939 movies)

Gone With the Wind
Dark Victory
Goodbye Mr. Chips
Love Affair
Mr. Smith Goes to Washington
Ninotchka
Of Mice and Men
Stagecoach
The Wizard of Oz
Wuthering Heights

I don't think that there is any other year that can compare to that list of great movies being up for an Oscar.

The wizard of Oz is bizarre.

I should say Oscar Winning Movies after 1980

I loved Patton and Rocky and quite a few Oscar Winning movies before the 70s
