@Merlin
Am I crazy to think after seeing Bobby Evans play today that we would have a better starting five with Whit-Evans-Corbett-Edwards-Hav and Blythe on the bench? Evans brought a lot of physicality to the game after Edwards got hurt.
I’m no expert, and I’m certainly not @Merlin but I think you are fairly sane. He got some great push after he came in for Edwards. If I recall correctly Akers TD was opened up by Evans and Whit!

I can't see McVay making that change this year because of the mental demands of the Center position, but I'd plan to slide Corbett to C, let Blythe walk in FA, start Evans at LG, flip Edwards to RG (him and Hav work well together), and draft a LT who can replace Whit. I'd also trade Noteboom. He's a serviceable LT and should have some value. But we can't make a commitment to him after 2021 with him having so little starting experience at LT.

Love it over there right now. Suprisingly most think we were just the better team and kicked there ass and werent making excuses for the loss, well beside there shitty coaching but thats understandable.

IMHO, we have been the better team all season. Wilson is great against defenses without a lot of team speed, but the rams right now are playing with a good mix of speed and strength. Our DBs are also top tier and play good assignment football.

Not at all. Removing Blythe would be the improvement. I just wonder to what extent they're comfortable with Corbett at Center and what they think of Goff handling a downgrade in the line calls and all that.

But Edwards and Havenstein would fucking mash in the run game on that right side. Just crush. IMO.

Overall I agree, think the only thing that they had better was QB, till today at least.

I can't see us doing it this year, but Blythe is a FA after the year. Corbett was considered a highly intelligent player coming out of college and a guy likely to move to Center in the NFL (he played LT in college). Assuming he's as intelligent as reported, I'd make that move after the season. It'll save us money and upgrade our OL imo.

They scored 29 points a game because most teams cant defend the scramble drill. That is sheattles most effective play and even today it accounted for 14 of their 20 points.
It happens sometimes, but it is not the rule for their big plays. Today, the first TD was a scramble. But, on the second, Wilson just stood in the pocket while Ramsey dropped off of coverage of the receiver and dropped back to the goal line for a moment. Wilson then threw him the ball while he was open in the middle of the field. That was blown coverage, not a scramble.

Wilson moved around and bought time on that play. The issue there is that defenders can only cover for so long. The pass rush gave him all day on that play. But we also weren't trying that hard on that drive because it was 30-13 with not much time left.

Sure, in most cases. But, Ramsey covered him for a while, and as Metcalf cut to the middle of the field, Ramsey abandoned him and dropped back to the goal line as if in a zone. It didn't look like a scramble play to me.

Wilson started as if he was going to scramble, there was a Seahawk WR crossing the field towards Jalen's zone, and Jalen bailed to pick him up. Unfortunately, the safety in the middle of the field also bailed to pick up that WR, which left D.K. open. We gave Wilson too much time, and a breakdown occurred. It happens.

That’s the damage Wilson can cause with his scrambling coupled with an uncanny abilty to find receivers downfield at any time, then somehow get them the ball from wherever he is. Imo he is the best ever at this drill.

That’s a good take. Blythe is definitely the weak link in the line imo. Too often he is just shoved into the QB and idk if protection break downs are on his communication, but I’d suspect a few are. Idk about trading Boom, LT’s take a notoriously long time to develop and with Whit so close to retirement how long do we really have to get his replacement up to speed. I think they should listen to offers though, that couldn’t hurt.

I have to disagree on LTs taking a long time to develop. I think if we pick the right guy and give him a year behind Whit, he'll be able to do to the job. If the LTs who are expected to declare do declare, this should be a strong OT draft. The problem for us with Boom is that he's a FA after next year. That means we'll have to make a call on him without him starting a full season. That puts us in a bind. I'd rather get value for him now and grab the future LT in this Draft.

fuck i still feel pumped. nothing better than beating those fucks but especially knocking them out of the playoffs. their idiot fans deserve nothing more than the rams beating them and making their team look like garbage.
