Remember when everyone was bagging on Baker Mayfield when he came to the Rams and then he went ahead and won one of the best most excited games in Rams history.

Same thing with the same know it alls who know everything football.

Bennett wins the game.

And that's how he won 2 National Championships.
Yeah that’s what the Rams front office sees in him. He’s not the most physically gifted athlete and for at least now he doesn’t see the field well, but he thrives under pressure and he finds a way to win. Hopefully he cleans up his field vision.

No doubt. Pressure is on him big time. You can't be QB2 if you don't see safeties. But for myself at least I recognize the dude is basically a rook, because he didn't get that first full season. So you're gonna need to fuck up to learn to some extent.

He just has to learn fast. Real fast. Chargers and Texans both have good depth and coaches who will come after him. Basically the Chargers game has to be good. If he's not efficient with good vision they may sign the vet just to ensure they have time to get him ready.

I saw a lot to be positive about in this game. The depth of this team is better than at anytime in McVay's time here. The team made alot of really good plays.
I really like the tackling by the Dbacks.
Tyler Davis is better than a 6th round pick by far.
Jordan Whittington looks like he could step up if asked to
The back up Oline looked solid.

A lot of good and a QB that while some think he is hopeless I saw good there too. The Rams can fix this over the middle problem and he will be all right.

The defense was flying around in a way that I'm not sure I've seen in many years. You could see white jerseys flying into the picture just as the receiver was catching the ball. Instead of being a step or two behind in pursuit.

That's mostly against non playoff teams, though.

2017 Colts; 4-12
2018 Raiders; 4-12
2019 Panthers; 5-11
2020 Cowboys; 6-10
2021 Bears; 6-11
2022 Bills; 13-3
2023 Seahawks; 9-8

Bills being the outlier and we know what happened there.
I don’t think it’s only case of playing weak teams as it is about health. The Rams have been pretty healthy coming out of camp—usually. I really believe the Rams were still beat up from their SB run when they came out in 2022. When I go back and watch highlights and the complete last two games, I’m amazingly proud at the heart the Rams’ roster showed. That team was on fumes when the last whistle blew. I don’t think they could have beat anybody if they had to play one more game. What ensued in 2022 was a merry go round of injuries.

I’m concerned that the Rams may be coming out of camp in a less than healthy state.

I'm not discounting him as QB2. You want to, that's fine knock yourself out my man.

I want to see how he handles things and adjusts. Can he close this game out first off. Also if next game isn't significantly smoother then I'd sign a vet.
I'm not necessarily writing him off yet today either. The guy has won 2 National championships. And the way he closed out the game today was money.

I just think his mistakes today were bizarre. At least twice he threw it right to a Dallas player as if he didn't even see he was there. And a couple times he threw into triple coverage, despite having all day to scan the field.

Just curious, when you say "if next game isn't significantly smoother I'd sign a vet", what do you mean by that?

Well, FWIW, IMO, he is not of NFL stock. However, great throw to win the game and who in the hell is Morris Forristall? Sounds like a guy, who asks to join your group on the golf course to make it a foursome.
