We stole a game with him from some backups last year, that's all it was.
Oh come on, Rams didn't steal the game, Wentz played very well considering he was not signed until late October. His two throws for touchdowns were extraordinary plus he carried the team with his legs.

The reason Wentz has not been signed is more of a political nature IMHO, plus playing for the Commodes and that horrendous offense did do him any favors. The 49ers played their first string team for half the game and the Rams with Wentz at Quarterback ended a nine game losing streak in the regular season.

Carson Wentz has a career winning record against San Francisco and IMO, would been a far better option then James Richard Garoppolo.

I agree he did some good things in the game but it was against backups and a team that had nothing to play for.

Wentz's issue at this stage in his career is declining consistency. He can't do it regularly and freelances too much, holds the ball too long, doesn't take the easy completion, doesn't throw on time, throws not just interceptions but backbreaking interceptions that lose you games.

I'm open to knowing more about the political reasons for him not having a job. So like, the whole NFL doesn't want to give him a chance to backup cause they don't like him?

You can say a lot of things about Jimmy G but he's consistent. He plays within the structure of the offense. That's what McVay wants

Wentz ran the ball 17 times. And pretty much every one of those was needed.

You think he's gonna average 17 carries a game? And.. he passed for all of 163 yards.

Wentz is bouncing around the league because he's a weirdo and because he's ultimately not very good.

I don't know that Jimmy G is a lot better.. I also don't know why Wentz isn't on the Rams. Maybe he still views himself as a starter and is hoping for an injury to open something up.

"Political"? Feel free to expand so we can understand what you mean here. Because that's way too vague.. his personal politics? Team politics?

I'd settle for much less: a two score win in Santa Clara where JG only comes in during the final series to execute several victory formation snaps to an angry stadium.
I see JG (wow another JG?) starting the finale vs SF to give Stafford & the front line guys 2 weeks off. And beating his old team, despite the Rams not needing it for the bye.

Sounds exactly like his play in 2017 where every taking head had him as the mvp.

Of course a couple of years later when it stopped working for him they called it hero ball.

.

How doesn’t he fit the Rams culture? From all accounts I’ve ever read, he is well liked by all of his teammates wherever he’s played.
Looks like I'll be eating some crow for that statement.
Thought I remembered there being questions about his dedication to his team and to winning. Looked for information to back it up and couldn't find any (from any reliable sources). That'll teach me to go off memory!
I stand corrected sir.

I recall that. It was a question of injury. Teammates or coaches thought he should be ready to play and he insisted he wasn’t.

So you guys want to give jimmy g-string a pass and a “welcome to the team”?

Fuck that. He’ll let us down when we need him the most.
THATS who he is.

He’ll have to prove me wrong before he gets anything positive from me. I hate. The 9ers AND the cheatriots. No way I’m just gonna forget that.

I don’t care who he fucks, sucks, licks or dicks

He’s not a criminal and doesn’t beat up women or randos at clubs

He’s won big games and if he could stay healthy, he’d be a coveted starter, so I’m happy.

We’re winning this for AD and if it takes a former 9er running the scout team to do it… I can live with that.

I do know that Wentz received quite a bit of Virtual purchasing shotguns for his offensive line in Philadelphia and the fact that he enjoyed hunting too. Also he was a scapegoat in Indianapolis, when the drunken Jim Irsay blamed Wentz for not making the playoffs, but has not been there, since they have moved onto Wentz either.

Ron Rivera was also not very complementary of Wentz from a leadership standpoint, but again, Washington under OC Scott Turner was a mess and they changed OC's the following year. Now, I also realize where there is smoke, there is fire, but I thought Wentz really offered a different dynamic as a backup and was hoping the Rams would keep him and maybe even be the guy after Stafford.

As to Jimmy Garoppolo, he was drafted by those cheating hearts in New England, traded to those dirty bastards in San Francisco and then played for the son of that back stabbing Brutus in Sin City. I will find it very difficult to root for him, porn star references, notwithstanding.

For me it's close to the same boat as my Lebron issues. Couldn't stand him in Miami, but when he first came to the Lakers I told myself that I'll need to like him at some point. After the 2020 title I was completely on board. I watch him these days and marvel at his talent, something I refused to do with Miami. He still says dumb stuff here and there and posts his goofy opinions. (compares Krapperdick to MLK WTF????) I remember a strong dislike for Kyle Turley until he became a Ram too. Like another poster said, the sweetest revenge will be an end of the season win over the whiners when we rest our starters. I loved last year's Wentz game so much!!!
