Reeder may not be a good Linebacker, but he’s a very good Special Teams player, which is a very important part of the team, and almost every team has their own version of Reeder.

I hate players who are god awful in every single attribute and dont just NOT help the team, but hurt them. The fact that he doesn’t have enough sense to realize he’s not good enough to play in the NFL is what makes me hate him. Isn’t he embarrassed? Missing every tackle and assignment every game?

This is a completely asinine and silly move. Theres is nothing good that can come from it. Not even ST.
This is just for you...

Van Noy said above that ... 'When he is called upon he (Reeder) gets the job done.'

No, No he does not. I mean, He (Reeder) REALLY DOES NOT.

By-the-way, Kyle Van Noy and Troy Reeder were teammates with the Chargers in 2022.

Many of us have acknowledged that Reeder must be a terrific guy. He's just a Lousy Linebacker.

Yeah I just don’t know how to react to that. I mean I know these guys tend to lift each other up. Maybe they saw he was getting a lot of hate. But there’s no chance they’re watching the tape if they really believe that.
Haha yeah I agree. But players do value things outside of just ability. Kinda like how fans valued Kupp despite his declining play because he was such a good culture for us.

Using Kupp has an example is terrible. In no fucking way should Reeder be mentioned in the same sentence with him. Kupp can actually play, just wasn't at the level of his contract.

I felt I made it obvious that I'm not comparing Kupp directly to Reeder. I'm pointing out how some fans didn't want Kupp cut despite his contract because of the locker room presence. People love to believe they know so much more than the people in the league lol (speaking in general, not directly at you). "Mcvay is wrong, Weddle is wrong, but I'm right." Reeder isn't getting contracts because everybody in the league is wrong. He's bringing value of some kind. Whatever it is.

I get what you’re saying. Kupp can be a teacher to younger guys and is great in the locker room. If Reeder was the assistant LBs coach or something I think I would be fine with it. But I’m terrified that McVay still wants him to start despite him being completely useless.

No worries, it wasn't clear to me but I highly doubt it was intentional as well. I was just pointing that part out as I pretty much hate this re-signing. I understood the Kupp decision, didn't like it, but big contracts have a way of playing out that way. McVay is human and to me, this is just a shit signing where he is wrong. He's done this bullshit with Jamil Demby, Bobby Evans, Joe Noteboom, and now this weak ass LB. We know what Reeder is and I'd rather give some new blood some run. It worked out in Omar Speights.

If Mcvay starts him then I'm gonna need you to consult me lol. Landsman (the guy they signed from ATL) is much better than Reeder. I hope Reeder is special teams and a backup.

That's the part that confuses me. I think a young rookie wouldn't be that much worse than Reeder, at worst. That's why I hope Reeder is just a depth signing that they added just to have experience on the roster in case of injury.
