If Avila works out as I expect he will, and Logan Bruss comes back healthy and meets the expectations we had for him when we drafted him, the OL will be much improved this year.
Yeah as things stand right now the OL has a chance. Which means the offense has a chance.

Now they gotta add a few more key pieces to that defense. And then pray that we find a good kicker. I do fear kicker purgatory.

A great building block for the errr retooling????

Can’t believe they actually picked IOL at 36. I was in Torrence but, Avila looks like a great kid and exceptional plug and play guy who can start day 1.

It will be interesting to see who the starting 5 are and whether he is at LG or C from the start.

I really want Aliva at Center. Mainly because I don’t think we can rely upon Allen to stay healthy. Best to start the new OC area now.
But I’m willing to give Allen a chance. Just hope he comes in stronger and can stay healthy.

Get a speedy tiny WR and go for it on all 4th downs. BRILLIANT!

Man, don't like how he looks at guard at times. We already have a lot of guards who can't deal with stunts and can't figure out who to block on pass plays. Hopefully he fixes that part. I do like the thought of him at center though all though if he struggles with block recognition at guard I'm scared if he can call them at the line as center. But certainly has the beef we have been lacking and hopefully will get his weaknesses coached out of him.
After watching him at Guard, I agree. At Center, I don't see him getting owned by ANY Nosetackle out there.. I think having him at Guard vs Donald will direct where he'll play on the line, because I think AD would eat this rookie alive. No slight intended toward Avila, because AD does that to the best of Guards.

Stafford too
Stafford especially. This guy is the most polished pass pro addition they've made in many years. Not only is he bigger than what they've usually gone after, but it's a deviation that he's ready to go in protections. This dude is really polished and so was Torrence who they also had interviewed, neither give up shit on the rush.

Linemen picks always remind me of that story of Joe Green and how when the Steelers drafted him the vets wanted to test drive him and see what he was made of and he kicked their asses. That's the kind of guy who wins you games and you can build a top program on. These sorry shits that have two or three fucking years in a program and still play like dogshit gotta go. We need dogs up front. Guys who fight their asses off and don't quit at the first sign of adversity because on our OL you're gonna get that in our division.

So again I'm really happy with this dude being added. I feel so much better about the OL now that I'm worried only about LT. Some gonna go on I'm sure about Bruss but I think he's got plenty of fight in him. We might have enough up front now.

Biggest thing I get from this is that the idea the Rams are gonna run the ball a ton this year, relatively speaking, isn't far off.
I see them drafting a running back at some point.. just not sure who. The Israel kid from Pitt is who I'd like.. explosive as hell downhill.

A starting Oline consisting of LT Alaric Jackson, LG Steve Avila, C Brian Allen, RG Logan Bruss, RT Havs is something to be excited about...
That's if Bruss can cut it, he didn't offer much encouragement in PS last year. Avila at least gives us another bite at that apple. And if Bruss works out, great. If not, I think Shelton has proven he can man the spot quite well.
