Watching this vid and gotta say our TEs have really stepped it up. Both these guys made clutch plays in the NFC Championship to get us where we are, so yeah they're probably not secret weapons any more but I watch this and I have to think they got more in store for us in the big one...

Oh and before anyone goes there... Yes it tastes delicious! :p

100 yards combined receiving by Higbee and Everett was my "Bold Prediction" before the Saints game. They didn't quite hit the 100, but damn they had some clutch catches (not catch..catches!).

.

That first catch by higbee in ot was so good. The ball was moving away from him at pace and he snatched it out of the air beautifully. Don't understand how it wasn't in every highlight package.

No doubt. And the blocking they do is integral to what we do in run and pass game, and they have really mastered those roles. I think last year they were spotty at best but this year they really have mastered their assignments and are starting to be a plus for the offense.

Yeah it's funny how I didn't realize the difficulty of that catch until I saw the slow motion replay of it. I've always been untrusting of Higs, well, for the last year or so I guess, but he does seem to be finally putting things together and focusing the ball in. Which is a great sign for us because if you've seen him at camp or otherwise in person he's one huge and rangy target.

And Everett I just can't say enough of. It's strange how quickly he's improved since Kupp went down, since that time he's made enormous strides.

Looking at Belichick and the way he removes what you do well... It just seems like our TEs are going to factor in huge in the outcome of this game. Along with Gurley, who hopefully is overlooked a bit due to rumors of his injury plus struggles last game. I can't wait and it's going to be another long damn week argh.

Not just the catch, but the throw by Goff is the kind of throw the media drools allover "What's Up" Mahommes when he does it...sweet.

Goff is a system quarterback who needs help at the line of scrimmage from McVay and he can only stand in the pocket and hit perfectly open receivers....or so we heard a better part of this year and last from the "experts".

Higbee and Everett give McVay options against the Patsies. Don't know how much they played together last week. BB has to plan for two TE sets. I think we will see both on the field together. It's going to be a physical game and they are bigger/taller threats in both blocking and passing.

I kinda think that will be McVay's starting approach...a two TE approach that helps with the run and the pass.

The Ram offense branches out from there. We'll see. McVay will show me even more brilliance if he has the Pat's confused defensively.

I don't think it's good for the Rams to get down early having to play catch up to the Pats in this game.

Totally agree with the OP!!! Would love to see Higbee and Everett used extensively in the Super Bowl, just like McVay used his TE's in Washington. Could be brilliant strategy and might just catch the Pats off guard.

Karate61,
Interesting post by you. Let me ask you a question: What was behind your thinking that Higbee and Everett would play huge roles agaiinst the Saints?

Because it wasn't thrown by Mahomes!!

What?!?!? Higbeast had a good game? He justified me pimping him here for the last two years? This call for a celebration!

Higbeast could be our Gronk, he has size and is a hard matchup. I've been waiting for him to show the rest of the world what he showed in TC a couple years ago. Being Goffs roommate cant hurt his growth in the O.
