That’s more 2025-2026 salary commitment than I expected. This tells me either:
A) Rams are very confident in his talent and they can turn him into a playable CB; or
B) the Rams are desperate & scared shetless about their current CBs and need to take these risks to find some playable guys.

Certainly B is true. While A might be more that they think it is possible and thus worth the dice roll.

This is certainly a dice roll. I just happen to like this one a lot more than some of the others.

Yes, it was Charles Woods ... per the Rams' Team site.

Perhaps they hope to re-sign Woods to the Practice Squad.
Couple Practice Squad moves today.

Charles Woods was indeed signed to the PS.

DL Cory Durden and TE Miller Forristall are no longer listed on the PS.

Two new D-Linemen are on the Practice Squad ... Jack Heflin and Kevin Strong.

Losing them left and right. Jonah Williams to Lions. Cory Durden to Giants.
Guess you have to figure Forristall was a goner with Higbee close to a return.

Soooooo you think Forbes picks up any playing time against the Bills?

I look at Forbes as essentially our 1st round pick, Rams didn't have one in 2023. We got him now. Very low risk high reward and now the Rams finally got their "1st rd" pick years layer. Lot of upside to this signing. Not expecting miracles but some decent play.

Wondering where the Rams use him. Guessing Star. Though I suspect he would be best outside the hash.

But, during his time in the NFL, has he truly graded out as a first round talent?

Regardless, I'd be surprised to even see him on the field this season.
If he was playing like a first round pick, he would not have been available.
That is clear.
That doesn't mean its a low risk signing.
Very little downside/risk or money to eat and tons of upside if he can be a better fit with the Rams.

Actually, I know Miller, and he would have stayed even after Higbee returns. Reason he is not a Ram is he was hurt and needs surgery, so he took an injury settlement and will try again after surgery and rehab. Probably elsewhere though…

Looks like it's only $1.3M next year and $1.9M in 26'. Is that really that bad? And there is no dead cap hit if released.

Washington takes the dead cap hit for his already paid signing bonus. We are only on the hook for his base salary and any yet to be paid roster bonuses if there are any.

Kevin Strong played decently for the Cards last year (2 1/2 sacks). He had a personal issue that led to his release last year. It was not reported as to what it was...sounds like they were considering bringing him back this year, but inevitably didn't.

Dude do we even use the star much any more?
