I wan't going to do this being that DaveFan isn't with us anymore, that and the time involved, but i'll take Tennessee if there are some new rules put in place to speed things up for players that go MIA for hours on end.

4 hour limit on all picks. If you can't make that timetable, PM another player (or the commish) in advance with your draft pick choices. After the 4 hour limit expires, a consensus among available players will be reached once any named player receives 3 votes.

I like it... Said player gets 3 votes that player gets drafted for MIA team, and draft keeps moving...Sounds fair and rule is known entering the draft.
Is Commish ready to start? Maybe a 24hr notice and its on like donkey kong????

Sounds like a plan. Just bear in mind that there are some guys in different parts of the world so there is bound to be occasions where they are asleep while this draft goes on. As long as they provide a few potential picks to the Commish it should move along. I've been part of the ROD draft for a few years now and have always followed this practice. Don't think I have been responsible for any holdup. With a 4 hour window however that may increase the likelihood that the draft gets on a roll and some guys will miss their pick despite their best intentions. As long as their are no hard feelings from fellow drafters when this happens, all good.

I agree, but wherever we are in the world when it's 2 or 3 or 4 in the morning, we can still anticipate where we might be prior to that and offer a few choices that either the Commissioner or a favored player might put forward for us. There may very well be some times when nobody is even available for a consensus pick, there won't be much we can do about that until either the player returns or enough players join in to reach that consensus 3'rd vote as an alternative to the teams owner. While 4 hours might be the set limit, it could still be well over 4 hours before we have a chosen player, so if the team owner arrives back before someone is chosen for him, he can still make his own pick. If you know you are not going to be available, perhaps submit more than 1 name to whoever will be picking for you. I was frustrated by how long the game was taking and was going to back out this year, but if we can move things along consistently, I believe we will be happier with the quick results, but that's just my opinion. If I miss out on my pick, that's only on me.

I'm hearing chatter in the Bay that the 49ers are shopping their 2nd pick.

Word is, their fearless leader InnovatedMind is seriously considering trading down at the right price.
