Bummer that Durant is out.

Glad that Bartch is out. Niners will be down to their 3rd-string Guard. We know how tough that is.
Our defensive front is gonna eat Purdy's ass with a side of ketchup. :laugh3:

So yeah it's a damn shame we have no secondary. Still I have to think if we own the LOS on both sides of the ball, which is likely, we should be able to take these bastids.

Happy for Limmer

Go Hogs!

I'm guessing Limmer's biggest lapses are the calls. Which basically puts more on the QB at the LOS. Stafford seems to be correcting quite a bit in there.

But I'm happy with Limmer. We are lucky we found him this year.
Stafford has said he handles the protection calls and Limmer handles the run play calls.
At least, per Brady during the Buffalo game.

More on Limmer, not from Brady:

The Rams’ center typically calls and sets the initial protection but Stafford has the power to supersede the call if he wants — an important detail especially in 2024 as the team went from former starter Coleman Shelton (who departed in free agency last spring) to second-year lineman Steve Avila, to rookie Beaux Limmer (with a Week 10 game in which veteran free-agent acquisition Jonah Jackson played center, before the coaching staff moved back to Limmer). Stafford has played with four centers over the past calendar year.

Limmer, a sixth-round pick last spring, has secured his role as a starter. Stafford said that it remains Limmer’s responsibility to get up to speed on his calls (and to lean on guards Avila and Kevin Dotson for cross-checks), but against more complex or aggressive defenses, Limmer noted his appreciation that the veteran quarterback can take over:

“It gives me the most confidence,” Limmer said. “Obviously I’m a rookie this year, so coming in I didn’t know really anything about the offense. So if I ever make a wrong call or anything — I mean, he hears it right away and he’s flipping the protection or whatever it is. It gives me a lot of confidence not to make the wrong call, because he’s going to make it right if I do.”

Brady lover.

I suppose it is possible Stafford just said fuck it I'm just gonna make the calls now, due to Limmer struggling with them. And maybe Brady has the scoop on that. But Limmer has been up and down in this and of late it seems like Stafford is making a lot of them, which I have taken as him correcting Limmer.

I don't profess to know, personally, other than what has been said above. Bears watching either way.

What do you mean?
The Rams not locking Alaric Jackson up long term !

Hindsight is whatever? We all can look back.It does PISS ME OFF sometimes when The Rams resign or don’t resign players.

IMO there TRASH at times.I can look back & complain. That’s not going to help or change anything.

The Higbee resigning was VERY questionable. Then the FA signings or not signings.Who knows - that road is what it is.

My thing this season is the way The Rams didn’t resign or just basically kick Ernest Jones off The TEAM !!! He only got traded to the HAGS & it’s only HURTING THE RAMS !! He has led the Hags in tackles every game. The Rams in a way got lucky to beat the HAGS .There now in first place though & he is in the NFC West.
—My point is certain players have earned the right for a better contract.Alaric Jackson was a UDRFA who has HELPED The Rams CAP wise. Why not repay him that makes both sides happy.
—NOW he is going to get PAID by a NFL team ??? Hard call right now.

Let’s GO RAMS 2024 could be another Superbowl year ? I’ll say last season they came close.

Oh I get you! And I agree!

Do you want them to sign Alaric long term?

He’s more than Noteboom was who was just a fill in. Alaric Jackson has proven himself as a starter.

I wanted them to have signed him to 3 year deal this season. How much longer does Big Hav got at RT ? I think it would have bought The Rams time to from a LT.

Right now it’s too early to tell & at what price ? It’s not going to be cheaper.

The only FA LT that I think is worth dropping cash on is the guy from Denver. He is 34 and will likely cost $20M a year or so.
Is he that much better than Jackson if Jackson can be wrapped up for, say, $14-15M? Probably not.

Brady said Stafford talked to him about it during their pregame interview thing they do.

Garett Bolles, at 32, grades out better than Jackson in pass protection. Bolles is the 4th highest rated pass protector in the league this year. Jackson is rated above average in pass pro but he's 20th.

They are both rated above average in run blocking but Jackson is rated higher (12th vs. 23rd).

The issue with Bolles is his age. He's the same age as Hav. How long are they going to play at a high level?

Because Jackson is younger, they will probably get contracts in the same neighborhood. Probably around $20 mil. for both.

As a reference point, the league's top LTs are signing for $20 - $28 mil. per year.

Boles just signed an extension.

About $20 million a year.. I think that's actually good news for the Rams... that should be the basic deal for AJ.
