Maybe I'm clueless, but I've never seen a post on this--not that I've looked hard. I've definitely not seen it discussed by any of the beat writers.

Anyway, I think it's a nice change: put the team first, but it's ok to take care of your own business after that. "We not me" was a little harsh.

I heard McVay say it about 7-10 day ago when being interviewed post draft. The image below is from the latest Grind trailer: "TRAILER: Behind The Grind Ep. 1 | Embracing Change"

'We sacrifice, we fight, we work hard, we win, then you cut me."
Cooper Kupp

Jokes aside, I like the old one better.
"We not me" led to McVay sacrificing everything including his mental health, burning out completely after the SB win, and coming very, very close to an early retirement.

"We then me" is still sacrificing what you need to have a chance to win but not forgetting to take care of yourself at the end of the day.

McVay is great because he is always adapting and the change was necessary to continue being able to coach without going off the deep end.

Over the word WE in small font are the words “Work” and “Enjoyment”.

There are two words over ME but are not legible.

Not a fan but what matters is an environment where players shoulder and share accountability. That is where he is the best in the biz.

It's just a slogan. It has nothing to do with his personal decisions.

Slogans are meaningless without success.

Look at the Patriots:
"Cheaters Never Prosper"
If they werent winning, we probably wouldnt have known they were cheating. Lol

The slogan is a reflection of his belief system which effects his personal decisions. I don't know how some of you guys are acting like that's overanalyzing when it's a very surface level take on how Mcvay's new priorities reflect in how he coaches.

Yeah -there was a lot more going on than Mcvay even comprehends.

I still think he has struggled, but his principles are what The Rams Foundation is made of.IMO if he were to step down The Rams would be structured well enough to continue in there winning ways.

Didn't see this article when it came out. Good piece. Where he was then, and where he has made changes to his coaching style that will allow him to keep coaching the Rams for the foreseeable future.

Thanks for posting.

I like the change. The NFL is a business. No need to sacrifice everything for the company only to be cut when your time is up.
