The Rams have done pretty good with the draft with him as director of scouting

we'll see how they do this year

James Gladstone does all the work ?

Les Snead gets all the credit ?
Most of his work has already been done this year. If his subordinates don't step up than we should really start to feel it next year.

I was really hoping they'd pass on him so we could get a couple more drafts from him. But I think this one hurts more than Holmes frankly. Either way, Snead knows how to pick talent to lead his scouting department so hopefully those waiting in the wings are ready to go.

Rams off-season is never complete until some dude no one has ever mentioned or barely knows leaves and then income the posts of dismay and tragedy.
Lazy assumption.

Not only is Gladstone a loss in the scouting department as a big part of Les’s team, he’s likely to take a few of the Rams scouts with him, just before the draft, which sucks. This means Rams player intel will go along with them.

I don't believe scouts are allowed to change teams in the months leading-up to the Draft.

Could be wrong.

The casual fan might not have a clue, but anyone who has paid close attention to Rams draft videos understand that this may be a significant loss.
It's part of being a successful franchise. Brad Holmes was a loss. I'm sure Gladstone will be a loss. But we should have the infrastructure in place to keep on trucking.

Definitely sucks.

I guess on the bright side, it shows the young up & coming talented scouts/etc. that this is the place to be and get opportunities to become a GM somewhere in the NFL. Similar to how McVay is a spring board for young talented coaches. Minority, young kid, whatever - doesn’t matter. What matters is being a part of this organization. At least I hope.

Its all a business, but this is dirty business. Nothing is original. Its all about greed at the end of the day. McVay will find someone, but they would have to be equally or better than what Gladstone offered.
