I can't forget that the 49ers went to a Super Bowl with two rookie Corners STARTING.

5 of Kansas City's 9 DBs last year were rookies.

Not disagreeing but both of those teams had a lot better pass rush than we are I think. Plus they didn’t have a DC who plays them 8-12 yards off the LOS every play. I pray this works out, I’m skittish to say the least.

Yeah....so.

Those guys were overrated. :)

We're not looking for starters, just some contributions from the Rooks. :)

I really wanna see what Aubrey Pleasant can do with these guys. I don't know what happened in Detroit, but I know when he was last with us, our secondary was fucking lit, and it wasn't just because Jalen was still playing at a high level. Darious Williams had his best season ever too and became a real playmaker for us.

No doubt. That was the best prepared secondary I can remember watching in many years.

Pleasant coming back and adding Jimmy Lake bodes well for us developing the young secondary we have. Tins of young talent back there with solid position coaches... im hoping Rochell steps up as a starter
..

I know I'm probably alone in this, but I'm really liking the makeup of the Rams Secondary heading into the season. A bunch of 6th and 7th rounders at Safety, 4th rounders at Corner. Looks like a solid group on their first contract. DB's are usually at their best the first few years on the league. Could be a better group than many think.

Man, I really hope you're right here.

I look at this secondary, and I think ...

It is a young secondary for sure, but young does not mean that they won't do good.

I agree, and remain hopeful but it was frustrating that the coaching staff would not put Rochell on the field last season. Kendrick showed me nothing. While Durant made some plays, and Tomlinson was an excellent college corner, they are really small. They could have excellent coverage on big WRs, and still not be able to prevent a reception.

That's it right now. We have no idea what Jolly or any of the undrafted free agents can do.

It's all speculation and hope.

You aren't alone. minus Kendrick, I like the potential makeup of the Rams secondary, too. Oddly enough, I'm really intrigued by some of these UDFAs. I guess it makes sense that a strong DB draft class would have a strong UDFA class. It seems like the team has more competition that ever before in the McVay era.

One more thing. While Ramsey made plays in the so-called star position, I really believe moving him around so much hurt the development of the other players.

Timarcus Davis intrigues me the most. His highlights include actual special teams tackles, and I think he could play a similar role. Tyon Davis has size and played for a school with athletic corners (Tulsa). Jordan Jones is tall, but I worry about his long speed. Cameron McCutcheon is another long corner.

Then there’s Vincent Gray. Former Saint and Wolverine, really long and athletic. I think he could find a home here like D-Will did.

I think the combo of Durant and Tomlinson could be special. I'm really liking this young group. They look like a group that can make plays on the ball which is what you want in modern coverage.
