Jourdan said this week the Rams were aware & ready for a high number of departures.
They knew that was part of the deal when they went out and told everyone that Raheem needed to be an HC.

Yeah, I listened to that too. Still it can’t be easy on McVay. He seemed to really like the staff he had put together. I hope he can duplicate the success.

I guess if he’s getting coaches poached every year that it is better than if he never did. Because, that would likely mean he sucked and the Rams sucked.

I think it also keeps you from going stale.

After all these seasons replacing coaching losses is SOP. McVay won't have problems attracting top people considering how being on his staff is a huge boost to a coach's resume.

2024 is basically just. Beginning.

This would be a good hire(Ricky Brumfield).Chase Blackburn is still the guy,but having an extra coach would be a great idea.

Les Snead really likes this concept after The Rams kicking game Stunk ! Plus over the Years has had a hard time finding replacements through draft ect, ext, ect, ext ….

My belief in kicking as well is it is such a specialty thing & coaching is huge.

Being in LA really good for Ricky Brumfield making a major name for himself with clinics & such.
High School Sports & giving back. The Rams will PAY !!

Les Snead seriously has an admiration for what goes into kicking after last season.I think he took for granted the Holding & Snapping those goes into it as well.

Johnny Hekkar was a great holder.Plus Jake McQuaide was
The Best Long Snapper in The NFL.

Lossing the long snap to injury Snead said hurt the kicking game as well.

Seeing The Superbowl this year only magnifies the meaning of having a good kicking game.

Harrison Butker should have probably been The MVP ?

Two articles today reporting Rams interviewing two experienced coaches for current openings.

Just reports of interviews. Both experienced guys.

...

Ricky Brumfield who is the Special Teams Coordinator at Georgia Tech for the Rams' Assistant ST-Coordinator (job held by Jeremy Springer). Brumfield has over 20 years experience ... mostly in college.

Rams hired Springer's replacement today, and it was out of the college ranks but it was not Ricky Brumfield.

The Rams new Assistant Special Teams' Coordinator is Chili Davis who most recently coached as Kansas State.

And, another (relatively minor) hire was just reported ... John Streicher, formerly with the Titans was hired with the interesting title of Coordinator of Football Strategy. Don't exactly know what that is but ... OK.

Maybe this has to do with how/when to go for a FG versus short yardage first down, or a 1 versus 2 point conversion... If someone has to be dedicated to correctly analyze this aspect, I'm good with that.

Maybe even be aware of all the rules, for any particular moment in time.... thinking of the un-named team up north... :woozy2:

Yeah McVay talks a lot about the team being situational masters. So maybe that hire feeds into that. Ensuring they know statistically how to approach every situation they might encounter. Looking at SF vs KC there was a difference in that regard.
