I'm looking at this from an organizational POV instead of a fan/freedom of speech POV.
If my job and interests are overseeing a team or business then i don't need that type of negativity so close to my operations.

I would like to know if the Rams had possibly made an attempt and reached out to ED before-hand and explained it to him. "Look we love having you around and you're welcome to stay close to the team but we don't need a sideline critic." For example.

I was listening to him on the radio this morning and he said he got a call one day saying you're not welcome on the sidelines anymore. While I'm not saying they didn't give him a warning, he didn't bring it up if it did happen.

Does anyone think that Dickerson really wanted to attend another game anyway?

I can barely stand to watch them on TV for crying out loud. If not for watching Goff develop I would probably skip it and read about the losses on NFL.com.
Frankly, that IS the only reason I am still watching now. Watching Goff develop into what jrry32 has been telling you guys for a long time. One of the reasons I joined up was listening to jrry32. He makes sense.

I just think its a little childish to be that ultra sensitive. This is the last thing that should be an issue for the Rams.

I see both sides of the coin. First you don't want a media member roaming the sidelines even if that media member is one of the all time greats. On the other side it's bad PR. TV ratings are low and you are kicking one of the most beloved players off the sidelines.

Anyway, K Demoff is now saying he's not banned.

Yup -- here's KD's olive branch, per PFT:

Rams act fast to fix “miscommunication” with Dickerson

Eager to avoid a PR mess with one of the greatest players in franchise history, the Rams are extending an olive branch to Eric Dickerson.

Shortly after Dickerson said the Rams told him he wasn’t wanted at games in Los Angeles because he has criticized the team on the radio, Rams COO Kevin Demoff took to Twitter to say that if Dickerson heard that, it wasn’t a message the team meant to convey.

“All Rams alumni, and especially Eric Dickerson, are always welcome at our games and practices,” Demoff wrote. “I have reached out to Eric to see where a miscommunication may have occurred & to clear up any confusion over his presence at games. Most importantly I want to make sure he knows that he is a valued member of [the Rams] family. We all share his love for our team & our fans.”

Dickerson, a Hall of Fame running back, was drafted by the Los Angeles Rams in 1983. He has had a long career in broadcasting in retirement and may have ruffled some feathers with the Rams with some of his public comments, but some ruffled feathers are to be expected for a losing team. The Rams are wise to try to quell this controversy.

Oh I hope this was a misstep by Fisher and adds another black mark that leads to his unemployment.

ED, what we meant was - you are not doing us any good on the sideline, we need you to SUIT THE FUCK UP and get out there!

Not sure Demoff making those statements is good or bad. It either is a complete fabrication by Dickerson or a grossly overstated comment by some peon to him or there is conflict beginning to pop up in the rams organization.

I've already lost all respect for Fisher as a coach anyhow so this changes nothing for me . Hopefully it just makes his seat even hotter than it is if that's possible.

Fishers seat isn't hotter than this.

Translation: look guys, we don't take criticism at Rams. We wanted to send a message by silencing one of our true greats so other small fish fall in line. We did not anticipate that public will ever know this. We are sorry that it is public now but we will find a different way to silence everyone. Until then how about those Goff touchdowns huh?

Meh. This seems like kind of a nothingburger to me.

The miscommunication is this: we know the Rams suck as it is. There's no point preaching to the choir because as Rams everybody knows we suck. So it behooves you ED not to pour gasoline onto the fire by being on the sidelines telling the Rams suck. So you're welcome to be on the sidelines. But please do us a favor and stop with the criticism.

Sincerely, Rams Management.
